I think if you park your car in the sun alot i think it comes very quickly. I actually purchased my spoiler from there and it's gotten abit cloudy but under extreme sunlight its not noticeable until in shade. Other parts have yet to become that bad because i think they're in other spots whereas a spoiler will get hit more easily. In due time i think it'll eventually happen im worried about some of the quality now. But when it was New and arrived, It looked superb i cant fault them on that... I guess thats just the quality you get versus OEM/Good branded stuff and even they have problems sometimes *Note if you type the word R w carb0n* its blocked on on these boards which is a bad sign also, it use to be allowed, now completely blocked* |

Everything I install is either OEM or from high quality vendors... Like Burger, Wagner and ER. Kinda anal about it. |

Do i get appreciation or what jesus...
It's a damn shame BMW ask ridiculous prices for their Carbon Stuff... Like mirrors they want $700 or so, i was happy to pay the premium for their Exhaust Tips but for just mirror flaps thats just outrageous... |

hey Chris how is the spoiler holding up so far? Is it my correct understanding that R W car b0n and the C N auto fan spoilers are the same manufacturer/item? Looking to purchase; but unsure because my car is mostly parked outside... scared of the clouding issue. Thanks for any advice/response |

Spoiler is holding up very well. No clouding/cracking/lifting.
To be fair, I wash weekly, and wax bi-weekly, so I expect it to last.

Just figured I would update.
Spoiler is still holding up well. I cannot confirm that CN and RW are the same. If they are, I'm not sure why some people get good and bad batches of CF products. It's been about a two months since I've waxed my car (Still washing weekly) and the spoiler isn't fading, lifting, bubbling, anything. I might just be the lucky one?

Didn't read the whole thread but was there a protective plastic film on that you could remove? Looks like that would be responsible for the flaws.

As with any carbon fiber, be sure to keep it clean and waxed as a precautionary measure. I recently left mine out in direct sunlight (without washing) for the past two weeks and with a simple pressure wash it is still in incredible shape.

Looks like all of these CF parts have a predisposition to get cloudy after continuous exposure to UV light. Naturally the time it takes for the components to get cloudy varies from person to person, depending on driving and parking conditions, cleaning regime, waxing, etc.
Has anyone had any luck using paint protection products or some sort of "priming" to extend the looks of the CF? I know that regular washing and waxing will extend the CF lifetime, but I can only imagine there's a more permanent solution to this ordeal? |

Just got mine in the mail. I opted for the m performance style. I'll take some pictures later. It looks like good quality for the price but I will be getting a different clear coat on it to avoid the issues others are having (bro in law owns an autobody shop.)
I won't be able to do an install for another 2-3 weeks since I am still waiting for my car to arrive from Germany. |
