New comer

Just got my first BMW a few weeks ago. 2014 M235i with 21k on the clock. Just wanted to introduce myself. Did my first mod, muffler bypass with 4" black powder coated tips. I want the theme for the car to be blue/black. Blacked out kidney grills and carbon mirrors are there already. Next should be H&R suspension and for wheels I want all black mesh wheels, a-la LM style.

Looking forward to lots of spirited driving and lots of good reading on here.

For those wondering I come from a VW background. Had a 2010 gti that gave me 8 great years of fun and tuning, actually cried when I left it at the dealership knowing I'd never drive it again. 2006 gti before that, and a 2002 beetle turbo S with a t3/t4. I also have a 62 beetle that is all hood ride on Porsche Fuchs.

Congrats! I came from an 11' MK6 GTI. It was a memorable car but the quality was just not there. The car engine was a gem though.

Don't do black rims. Any depth or design is lost in the blackness, they look like steel wheels from a distance, they look smaller because of lack of contrast between the wheel and tire, they bring out the brown in a tire, and they'll make the wheel gaps appear larger than they are.

I went black and blue on my 16 228ix. Special rear state license plate in porcelain black. Black kidney grills and black Msport rims. Black Dinan exhaust tips. I like the blue/black side view mirrors better.

I have black Msport wheels and they look great. Lots of compliments. Put on whatever wheels you like.

Make sure they don't make your tires look brown.
