Thank you all for your positive conversations and advice over the last 3 years. My lease is up and now it's time to move on to an F36 today. I'll be picking up my EB 440i GC tonight and turning my F22 in to the dealer. My OEM Gloss Black Kidney grilles are going to be for sale in the members classifieds area if anyone's interested.

Here's some of my favorite memories.

Farewell man, I'm sure you'll miss the 2 series, but can't blame anyone for wanting more practicality in their life..

Yup!

In fact, the 2 Series is my idea of today's perfect "left brain; right brain" blend of logic + passion...

Very practical/civil upon request, but predisposed to unruliness.

Congrats! The 440 GC is about the only thing I have a desire to add to the garage at this point.

Late yesterday afternoon I got an e-mail from the dealership saying that the 440i GC didn't arrive yesterday so hopefully it'll come in today and I can take delivery tomorrow and post some pics.

Thanks to all of you for the responses.

I totally agree that it's not an "impracticable" car, but 4 doors makes sense for those who have kids or shuttle dogs around, etc..

I convinced myself that the 2er was the best sporty coupe I could buy at the moment, for under $60k, with some practicality in mind, and a ton of potential for higher capabilities from modding. I have yet to be proven wrong, this is absolutely the best buy I've ever made, no remorse whatsoever, and that's hard to come by with how quickly the industry is changing

Waiting on pics. I also just realized you're in DFW as well.

Good thing my dog only weighs 8lbs. I was looking for something that offered good enough practicality for everyday use but still had potential to become track-worthy in case I finally decided to get rid of my current track toy.

I'd say this is certainly one of the better options in its price range, but I really am irritated at the fact you can't fit any decent size wheels/tires. I don't see myself taking this car too far, at least not for track duty. Fortunately, that means I can finally get a true dedicated track toy.... if and when the funds will permit, lol.

The 2 is definitely the most practical 2 door I've ever owned. As a drummer I've amazed myself at how much stuff can fit in it.

Alas, the new 440i GC hatch will make it easier for my load ins and outs and is the main reason for the change. I've only driven the b58 in a 340i for a UDE so I'm looking forward to it in the GC. I bet it's killer in the M240i!

For now, here are some dealer pics from today when my car arrived. I will pick it up tomorrow night after work.

Nice. I miss the red instruments. 440 was a bit too big and smooth for me, though I prefer the retractable hardtop to the soft top for winter.

Enjoy!

Not crazy about your dealership slapping their logo on your car. That is unless they give you a monthly stipend for advertising.

Otherwise, I love your car.

+1 I didn't even notice that, but yeah, I'd be at least a little annoyed they decided to plaster that crap on my brand new car.

Glad you stuck with EB, though -- looks good!

Yeah I thought about asking them to remove that. I'm not that worried about it. If I? decide that it's bothering me then I'll talk to them about it or get rid of it myself. Once I start the modding, then I'll see for sure.
Otherwise, I love your car.
Thank you so much! I'm happy so far. It's a lot more stable on the highway but definitely feel the extra weight compared to my 235 through turns. I haven't really opened up the throttle yet but I? can tell that the weighting of the steering in the 4 is better than in my 2 from November 2014 when mine was built. I was never really that happy with the steering weight and feel even in sport mode.
