Are a dealer's pricing on parts negotiable?
I'm looking to buy some MP parts from my dealer. Just wondering whether dealerships are open to negotiation to move on their pricing on parts, similar to the way they would on a car, in order to earn your business? Like if I were to compare prices between other local dealers. Would my SA have any say in the matter?

Most dealerships are run in a manner that sales, service and parts are effectively 3 separate businesses..... Markup at the dealer for parts is significant As an example....the M Perf rear diff is almost 2500 list at the dealer Online it can be had for under 2100 and sometimes as low as 2000 |

Call Brain keller at sun motor cars bmw. He's the parts manager. He's the best around period. Got me pads, rotors, sensors, and wipers for my x3. For literally 600$ less than my local dealership. I've bought a ton from him since my m235i back In 2014. He's awesome and loves the forum guys.

Thanks for the info guys! I also spoke to my SA yesterday who also confirms that parts is pretty much their own entity so I would contact them directly.
Not sure how it works regarding contacting a dealer in the US to sell me some parts. Would they ship to any location the US? Plus the CAD is so bad right now so I'm sure that will lessen the savings by a lot. So far it looks like contacting/knowing a parts manager is the best way to go based on everyone's input. Anyone know the best way to approach the parts manager on this? Like what aspects are negotiable/non-negotiable? |

Depending on what parts you want, I've bought BMW OEM parts from online sellers in multiple countries for shipment to Canada. I've had great experience from:
Ecstuning.com (US) - various maintenance parts, brake components over the years for several BMWs, typically 7 days for parts to arrive. Germanautoparts.ca (no duty or cross-border charges, 2 day shipping) - direct injection injector and brake maintenance parts for our 135i. Schmiedmann.com (Denmark) - European style mirror glass for our soon to be received M240i, 7 days for parts to arrive, shipping, duty and taxes equivalent to parts from the US. All part numbers can be identified from realoem.com, then input into the above websites to determine stock availability and pricing. Last edited by aerobod; 04-18-2017 at 12:50 AM.. |
