Oem M Perf exhaust vs Dinan exhaust (sound)???
Anyone heard both (M perf and Dinan) in person? The M perf can be had for $750 vs Dinans $1800...i do like the sound of dinan but is it worth extra $1k?

Yes, the m performance exhaust is most definitely louder than stock.

Locally in MA I have no dealer that has installed any of the M235i exhausts unfortunately. If you go north or south a bit we have sold quite a few. MA just is a random dead spot for some reason. Since you inquired about a PA dealer I can say with near certainty that Dave at Motorworks West has installed / heard both and will give you an honest opinion of both. He's one of the most forthright people you will ever talk to or deal with so I encourage you to reach out to him. |

Dave is not on the forums as far as I am aware. You would just have to give him a call. He's old school. I believe Dave at Motorworks West was the one who installed BLK's M235i setup and I am sure he would vouch for his straight shooting demeanor. |

The M Performance exhaust gives definitely different sound than the OEM exhaust. It's more raspsy, throaty, airy, and the sound is deeper. Also, even in Comfort mode it makes the burble much more noticeable, especially when you take the foot off the gas pedal.
IMO $1800 for just an axle back (muffler+tips) is too much. |

Working for BMW as a tech i have heard the M-perf exhaust and Dinan.. Personally the Dinan does sound better...its somewhat close to the M-perf exhaust but alot deeper.... Me personally i dont like the looks of the Dinan exhaust.. The tips stick out way to much for my liking and its alot of money just for the muffler... I would buy the M-perf exhaust and use that other $1K for a catless downpipe and tune.
