Dash Cam Options
Hey Everyone.
Anybody have suggestions for a "discrete" dashcam for the 2er. Something that is not permanently secured, etc. Looking for something reasonably priced as well. |

Blackview cameras are not the smallest, nor have the best picture quality. However, they have the most features. A much more discrete camera is the Street Guardian sgzc12rc. Trade off is a large base unit to house processor and controls. But this could be placed in the glovebox. 2ch product coming around April '17.

I don't have any experience with dash cams, but thewirecutter.com has a pretty comprehensive review of various models.

I have the Transcend 200 unit for the front, used it for my journey this weekend, and actually came in handy last night with a drunk driver which allowed me to report it to the police after a minor issue.
The dealer wired it in nicely behind the mirror, and I've decided I'd like one for the back, so I've ordered the 220 to replace the front, as it has GPS and a battery, and I plan to move the 200 to the back, although I need to work out how best to cable that in. Very pleased with it considering the cost. |

I've yet to fit the 220, that has I believe the same quality, slightly lower degree of coverage, but has GPS so you can track speed and journey which is why i will fit that to the front. Good buy in my book, very pleased with it, especially when BMW wanted over 600 for theirs Happy to take some shots of it fitted if you want and ill pull off some footage at night if that helps you |

Ive used many different ones.
Waylens is pretty cool, has an OBD dongle so you can have data overlay on your videos. expensive. I have used 3x ebay $20 cams, 2 where complete shit, but one was decent. Some of the garmins are pretty good, gps + data overlay put pricey. Use a gopro, use an old cell phone with an app that overwrites video files. Do your research and buy one within ur budget.

I use the FalconZero F170. I really like it - quality video, various recording options, etc.

Anyone try Goluk? The form factor is quite interesting for a stealth install I'm contemplating.

I did see that one although I don't want a screen. Specifically want the smallest non screen option there is.
Running wires from roof in vert is a pain. I want something I can mount just ahead of the speaker grille and hopefully run the wire down there. Actually looking at push-push pistons so I could cut the tabs off the front of the grille and have it pop up an inch to expose camera then push down when not in use.
