first fender bender. help.
so... heres my first fender bender thanks to a careless uninsured driver.
the driver-at-fault has offered to repair my vehicle out of insurance due to said reason but im not quite sure how to protect myself 'legally' from possible shenanigans. my plan is to advise my insurance of the event regardless, but request to hold the claim from being processed i decide to do so. ill be taking the car to an authorized collision center in west l.a for an estimate. About the person not going through insurance.
Do you have them on your phone/dash cam (video) admiring it's their fault? When you go through your insurance (their insurance) the first thing that day the insurance company contacts the at fault party to confirm if the other party admits responsible - the longer that affirmation takes the harder to prove so if they decide to balk. Really you should throw it over to insurance - most likely your dealing with a person who is questionable in terms of finances and responsibility. |
