Nice man. Mix city and Hwy? I'll be returning my 428 xdrive in March and Avg. 27.6 MPG for the 3 years of my lease. Amazing these 4 cylinder turbos on power and fuel economy.

Wow, so your car is probably getting 45 mpg highway. That's a keeper!

I've got the M240, and its showing 29.1 MPG average. Most of that is highway, but still outstanding IMO.

I have no clue how you guys are doing it in your 240's. My daily commute is in stop and go traffic and I typically get ~20mpg. However, even on a road trip (highway all the way), I can only get up to ~26mpg (at 75 - 80mph).

Must have had a good tail wind! I've averaged about 26MPG in combined driving over the first 11K miles in my 228i.Got as high as 37 MPG on the highway. Averaged 34 on a 2700 mile road trip to New Mexico. It really wasn't broken in, only 1900 miles on the odometer.
It would make sense that new B46 engine would get better mileage, though.

I first thought that was amazing but then I remembered that US gallons are bigger than Uk gallons. I presume the MPG is calibrated appropriately for the USA and therefore it would be equivalent to 32mpg in the Uk which seems in keeping with values quoted here.

Having said that its still very good for a petrol engine as my remapped 330D only managed 36mpg cross country. (Worst was 16mpg on the 'Ring).

I shall be most likely be buying a 235/240 in the spring - hence my interest in this forum.

Happy motoring

Ditto here, I am getting 19.2 on my 228ix driving mostly in comfort with occasional sport mode. I do live at the beach so I do a lot of stop and go driving. But i don't do that much better on highway. Car is 6 months old

I would probably do better than thw 29, but the traffic i drive in typically has two speeds. 50mph or 85mph. It really sucks to get behind the50mph guys and passing is a go now or wait forever thing. So when you get a chance to go, wind that baby up and get by.

Darn!!! I've got 3,500 miles on my M235 and each and every fill up averages just shy of 24 MPG, and that's 80% highway, 90% comfort, with a heavy foot at all acceleration opportunities.

I MUST BEAT EVERY SOCCER MOM/DAD IN A FORD EDGE OFF THE LINE!!!!

Same here this car is too much fun to go for mpg. I get around 21 mpg with an FBO car. A couple weeks ago I managed 34mpg on the highway cruising at 80. Needless to say that didn't last very long.

US GALLONS ARE SMALLER THAN UK GALLONS, NOT BIGGER.
US gallon is 32 oz., UK gallon is 40 oz, therefore 25% bigger. So in UK terms, this guy is getting incredible mpg.
I have never seen anything like these numbers in my close to two years of ownership, under any conditions. I do have a 235, but still . . .

Same for me, DK if it is the Xdrive, or what, but no way I'd get those numbers. My lifetime average is mid 22mpg, best tank was about 30, occasionally have seen mid 30's for pure highway. That said, I've only used eco mode for about 20 minutes ever. As far as I can tell, my best ever was running through the mountains, so it likes to be driven.

Our M235 xDrive with a Dinan CAI and Performance Chip was getting 24 MPG in the Summer and now with Nokian winters on we are getting about 23 MPG. Car is 75% Highway and 25% City.
