BMWs top the list of new cars dumped within a year

4 BMWs are among the top 10 new cars dump within a year of purchase. The 3 series is #1 with an 8% turnover and the 4 and 5 are in the top 10. MB C and E class are in the group too. Do you think it is 1 year leases? The Dodge Dart is in the list too but I think that is probably due to rental company sales. No Audis. http://www.msn.com/en-us/autos/resea...Cuj?ocid=ientp

My guess is dealer loaner vehicles skew these statistics

Rental cars are probably a major contributor, both Avis and Hertz offer 3 series cars for rent at most major locations. I was just in Hilo, Hawaii (poor me) and Avis had 8 three series cars, out of maybe 30 cars, on their rental lot. I bet if you dug a little deeper you would find that most of the turn over comes from 4 cylinder base models that the car rental agencies and corporate lease companies use.

Brasshat(executive demos) service loaners and punch cars really skew the stats. We can punch up to 30-50 cars a month that makes them technically sold.

Only proves what many of us already knew: the 3, 4, and 5 series BMWs suck.

You're more than two months late to this party ...

... which in any case, since it has absolutely nothing to do with the 2 Series, should be in this subforum.

Please read the forum rules. Thank you.

Really...and who exactly would the "many of us" be? I've owned 4 3-series BMWs, each of them for 4 years or more. Everyone I know with a 3, 4, or 5-series car has owned them for multiple years. Personally, I think people who make blind judgments based on bullshit "articles" are what really sucks.

but I can't help notice that you did not sheriff the posts on BMW fires, X1 and 4 series drivers, tire insurance, tipping courtesy drivers, etc. It won't happen again.

Nah, the current get 3, 4, or 5-series cars do suck from a BMW perspective. They're tame and vanilla-fied for the masses. I've driven them, I would know this. BTW, perhaps lighten up a bit. It's the internet and some of us are just having fun.

See that's why he has to police things - because otherwise everybody is all getting their shorts in a knot and starting to fight amongst yourselves. Pretty soon, somebody will bring up maintenance intervals, MT vs. AT, or who should have //M badges and things will just melt right down to total anarchy. Now you all play nice or you will have to go do a time out in a Ford to get your perspective back.

NVHoo No deputy can ever pursue every offender. Just doing my part since I don't have ADD, don't require attention and instant gratification, don't believe that the world is centered around myself, am not averse to learning things (and forming opinions based on what I've learned) on my own, and generally do my best to learn how to use things before I actually try to use them ...

Rulez iz rulez. For the good of the forum community -- any community, really -- it's best to follow them. This forum doesn't exist just for one person. It exists for all of us, equally.
