So where's the US online builder?

…and these cars are supposed to be on show floors in two months but you can't even build one online yet? Of course there's the order guide, but let's get the online builder out already, what's the holdup?

It will probably go online following the launch at the Detroit auto show.

I think you're right--they want to make the "splash" with the official reveal, then I bet it shows up.

My car entered production on Monday, so I am hoping for a late February delivery.

Don't hold your breathe. They just put the i3 up yesterday and I drove one a month ago.

I am hoping.

I have had a new BMW show up in a little as 5 weeks, and a different car took almost 8...there's just no rhyme or reason...fingers crossed...

Did you build performance parts into your lease?

I have to place my order today or tomorrow.

No sir--there hasn't been any info at the dealer level, at least according to David Aviles, who I would think would know as soon as that became available.

He did tell me that the BMWFS programs were released for the M235--60% residual 15K a year!

It's a US order and delivery? Now I'm confused, since my dealer said they couldn't even order one until the online configurator was up (they said BMW does it at the same time). They did give me the pricing guide which was also posted here.

It shouldn't surprise me though, I usually know more than they do when it comes to new models.

Sure is--I have ordered it through David Aviles in CA and pick it up @ NW BMW in Baltimore (much closer to me than CA). Should be early March at the worst...

According to him, the first wave of cars are all going to be dealership demos--I had been #1 on their list, but that car was not configurable in the system--BMW wants all the demo cars in the first wave to be the same.

So I fell to #2, and my production started this week, instead of in December, which is when I originally thought my car would be getting built.

My real issue with BMW's timing on this is the fact that this will already be a very short model year. Why shouldn't I wait for MY2015 if the 2014 information is this late to the table? Some of us really need to plan out this purchase, and the lack of transparency is kind of hurting. Of course, we've gotten a lot of backdoor information, but give us something official!

I wouldn't think there will be any changes made to the 2015 MY, but that's obviously not certain yet.

My lease is up in June so I have a very good reason to order now

Nice! Same thing with my dealership! I am #2 as well since #1 is the demo car. I need to check on production tomorrow... I wonder what's the last date to change my order... I'm not sure if I want leather seats or not.

I agree. While the 2014 model year will be too short for them to identify and engineer out any bugs and therefore the 2015 will likely be exactly identical with 2016 being the real year to work out lots of the bugs, this late in the game if you can hold out you may as well wait for a '15, just for resale purposes if you are buying IMO.

But that too depends how late the '15s come out, maybe they will be pushed back a few months, not arriving at dealers until this winter.

Everybody leasing should keep in mind that BMWFS will allow you to extend your lease for up to six months or longer so plan accordingly.

My lease expired in October and I'm planning on an April ED, but only if ED is NOT part of dealer allocation. Otherwise I'll push the limit on the lease extension.

They don't even have the full price list. How can they have a builder..?

How much does the LSD cost..?
It is standard equipment on their competitors cars. LSD should be standard on any car with a M on it, but BMW will try to charge $1,900.

I know! I want all of the details.

I honestly don't care for the Dakota leather--it has always felt halfassed to me, but I want the dimming mirrors, so I checked the box for the premium package...

Ugh. I really want to get the M-Performance diffuser and black kidney's and maybe the exhaust.

This process is stressful.
