Removing bird poop etching from paint with heat

So...I recently picked up a pre-loved black M235 convertible and the only major flaw was that it had half dozen or so very large bird poop stains that had etched into the clear coat. It was very noticeable on a otherwise shiny black paint.

Some google search turned up a YT vid on using a heat gun to remove the etching so I figured I'll give it a shot. OMGGG, it worked like magic!! I was surprised to see the etching literally disappear in front of my eyes...no wet sanding or busting out my polisher needed.

Anyways, I wanted to share this info in case someone needs it. Make sure to follow the vid and don't hold the heat on one spot too long. Good luck!
