Just did my daily check on BMWusa to see if the 2 Series had been added to the ED list with official pricing. It's now there.

M235i European Delivery MSRP: $40,135

228i European Delivery MSRP: $29,905

So there's only a $2k difference for the 228i. Interesting...
Perhaps this is BMW's way of getting people to push for the 235 model.

The price for both are about 7% off of MSRP.

does this mean we can expect to see ED deals like $750 above ED invoice price soon?

Not until they stop coming out of Dealers (1-2 a month) allocations.

You're right. I didn't take into consideration the lower MSRP.

Does the M235 come out of allocations? Are they treating this like an M car?

I assume the 228 is not coming out of allocations.

A dealership gets x number of each model, known as their allocation. A higher volume dealership is rewarded (typically) with a higher number of allocations of the hot model. The allocations a store gets are either dealer stock, or orders. So if a store has hit their allocation total, you would be unable to order a car until the next cycle.

For example, a north east chevy store that doesn't do much corvette volume wouldn't have many corvettes allocated to them, but at a time like this where the car is hot, they would want more corvettes than a typical year towards the end of a model cycle, but are not able to get any. The dealer that sells corvettes all the time, not just when it's hot, is rewarded with a higher number of allocations.

Hope that helps, I know that was wordy.

Damn those are tempting prices.

I might have to close GTB for a month to do an Euro Delivery!

This is ED MSRP, not ED Invoice price, right. So we should be able to offer the typical $500 over ED Invoice price and expect a signed deal? I didn't realize that aead came out of allocation, or did this change recently? Our first ED was 2006, second in 2012. Thinking third in 2014...

Right, I haven't seen ED invoice anywhere. David quoted me ED MSRP, so I think its probably very difficult to get below it I'm assuming.

Yes.

ED Invoice is less. You can offer the $500 over invoice, but highly unlikely to be taken by a Dealer at this point in time. They are still coming out of Dealer's allocations, and until that changes you probably won't see that deal being offered.

Congrats on your previous purchases... but why do you assume that one should be able to offer $500 over invoice and that such a deal would be automatically approved?

Even if this has happened before.... (and YES i know it does happen).. why would you expect it to be available on a brand new model that's in its first few months of delivery?

I'm all for getting a good deal... and hopefully you can certainly negotiate to this level.... it just seems that EXPECTING this to be occur is .... at the least...... well... presumptuous..

Since you are a multiple BMW purchaser... Hopefully you are also a CCA member and are also collecting rebates from BMW CCA on your purchases..

best of luck getting the deal you want and ED #3.

Gotta pay to play In their opinion (dealer's) for the first run of M3/M4 or get in the line for six months to get a deal on one.
