My body is ready for this.
Is it too early to place a deposit for a 2017? My lease is up in 07/17 and may be able to pull ahead in end of 2016, but I want to make sure I get in on this also that I'm not too early.

Is it really confirmed that the M2 gets an optional DCT or is it not more likely that it would be MT only or MT and optional AT, but no DCT !?
Reason ... if the rumors are right, that the M2 is so much focused on costs, it seems too costly to adapt the M-DCT for the N55. |

It could be the sports automatic and not the m dct for the m2.
That's also an option for m235i. With cost in mind that could be an sports automatic! I hope not! |

Could be. After all, the DCT is bloody expensive on the M3/M4 and the M2 is supposed to be the "entry level" M car. The M235i Racing uses the Sport Automatic as well.
DCT would still be the better fit, though. |

I test drove M235i Motorsport 2 weeks ago. It had the sport automatic gearbox in a race car. It s programmed to be faster. It s not that bad. But i would not buy it for my M car!
6 speed manual for a fun car. M DCT if the car is more for daily use. Sport automatic is nice if the wife drives it |

Anyone else notice what appears to be regular headrests on the seats (instead of sport buckets like on the M3/4)? I hope the real thing gets proper sport buckets, hopefully with cloth or alcantara.

Given that they used the ZF8 on the M235i Racing, I wouldn't be surprised to see that transmission in the M2. It'll be a huge disappointment for M-DCT fans, but it would make a lot more sense financially. A $2,900 transmission option on a car that should have a starting price quite a bit lower than the M3/4 is a non-sequitur.
