Why get an M2 if you don't plan to take it to the track, even once a year
And I don't mean a drag strip.

I hope that anyone that gets an M2 with no intention of tracking it, actually goes to the track on a whim, so they can see how fun it is. It's a completely different experience than driving fast on the highway, or giving it some gas on an exit ramp.

Not saying mine for sure wouldn't go, but I'd rather take something that isn't as expensive personally (aka my e36)

I just took the E46 to the track this past Friday and had tons of fun. Need some M power however to fend off the GTRs and EVOs and S2Ks and other turbo cars.

If an M2 is in my possession it will be at our track for open lapping sessions as much as possible. AutoX wel.

I don't see the point in owning a car so compromised for performance and not exploiting it.

Because people want a better suspension with less body roll than an M235i offers, along with some more power and better road feel?

I don't see how it is any more compromised than an M235i. It's no exotic or stripped out race car. The Cayman GT4 is livable on the street and the M2 sadly is not even going to be close to that.

Since we have 65/75 here, which translates to 75/85 practically speaking, we get our fix. Too bad the LHM group is shutting down the nearest track to me. Minus 2 mil per year is not a great business--don't blame them. Since papa isn't around anymore to play in his private 'sandbox,' it makes no sense to keep it around.

Some of us are just less fortunate. Would that preclude me from getting an M2? R ya nutz? Some men like BIG butts; however, I like smaller quick cars.

My son is building a brand new house in the country club. He doesn't golf! Go figure.

LOL! You completely missed what I was saying. I don't understand why someone would buy an M2 and NOT take it to the track.

BTW, I don't have any problem with body roll in my M235i.

I'm going to be 3 hours from the Nurburgring for the next four years.... I am considering an M2 to have a semi-dedicated tracker that I can also use as a european DD... the M5 is just too big for some areas, and while fun during my laps with it on the 'ring would not be ideal for anything beyond touristenfahrten
