Yeah, kinda. I'm just confused since nobody seems to know for sure where my car even is. Seems to me it's either stuck in port, at VPC, on a truck on I-5 or at my dealer. Also seems odd that some cars would be released so far ahead of others (if like cars are ED).
My patience is thinning by the minute as I sold my Mini last night so I'm vehicle-less for the first time in about 20 years! Will keep everyone updated on the thread and look forward to some good news for all of us.

If they say "In transit to VPC", it's still at port or being shipped to the port. If they say "At VPC", it's at VPC. If they say "Work Order Started", it's at the VPC probably undergoing some minor repairs If they say "Released to trucking", it's released by VPC and on the way on a truck to your dealership Once your dealer gets it, he may keep it for a day or 2 to prep it forr delivery. If you do call BMW NA, press 2 and ask for a customer relations person and give them your production number. |

Yeah, I've done all of that. Automated status via 800 # is "in transit." First and second live representative stated it was at the dealer. CA states it is not (and below you'll see they are correct).
After speaking with two people from customer relations they were able to get a hold of the sales manager who apparently is able to see more than CR. The car is at VPC awaiting release to the trucking company (Waggoners). Once released it will take 5 days to get to BMW Seattle. Nobody knows when it will be released from VPC to the trucking company. Once it arrives in Seattle, who knows since they need to detail and swap the trim (which the CR and sales manager failed to discuss nor commit to a timeline). It's nuts that I won't likely get my car until after the first week of May at the earliest at this point when it docked in April 9th. If I had to guess I'll be at 11 -12 weeks since drop when I take the keys at this point. Guess that's why they make no estimates promises. I know that customs is the hold up here the delay is not BMW's fault but the lack of true visibility/keeping stories straight has been bothersome.

Mine is still at port as of 10 minutes ago. I am thinking people on the Delemeter Leader will get their cars before I do even though that boat left 2 weeks after the Cygnus Leader. BMW ED did say that they are trying to reach out to someone in the port to see if they could expedite.
Fjk : post some good pics of the car. purephase : 11-12 weeks is just too long. My CA still says they've agreed on the 8-10 week timeline and thinks that it should be doable. Going by that timeline I should be getting it between 4/22 and 5/6 with the median being 4/29. At this point I'll take 4/29. |

YESSS! It's good to see you have light at the end of the tunnel. So is the "work order" just the normal processing or is something getting fixed?

He said that was empty for my car so I am assuming that it's just the normal processing. |

I envy the detail you are getting! I'm hoping to receive some of the same myself. Hopefully my car is on a truck now so the 5 day countdown can begin (to dealership upon release from VPC).
What I still don't know is if my trim swap out happened at VPC or is going to happen at the dealer (my assumption). Hope that doesn't take more than a few hours, wouldn't imagine it would.

Meanwhile, I just got another update from BMW ED: Good Afternoon Mr. Gatte, I wanted to provide you with an update on your vehicle. It has now been released to the trucking company and marked with high priority. They have 24 hrs to get it on a truck and transported to your dealership. Once it arrives your client advisor will call you in to take delivery. I will be out of office until Thursday so please follow up with David Aviles directly. Thank you. Best Regards, BMW of North America, LLC Sabrina Knudsen European Delivery Specialist These guys are great. |

The mail came out of a generic email address for european delivery (BMWEuropeanDelivery@bmwna.com). I would recommend that you call BMW NA ED at 800 932 0831 and anybody over there will be able to help you out.

So sorry work prevented you from your long-awaited reunion today, though. ...and while these pictures are gorgeous, they don't fulfill the spirit of Inline_Six's rules, so I look forward to seeing the reunion pictures tomorrow! |
