How long does it typically take for an order to process?

It has been about two weeks and my tracking on the BMW site still says that the order is documented. How long does it typically take for this to change?

Thanks

Would love to hear peoples' experience with this as well. I placed my order a week ago today and it still shows as order documented.

The dealer if it really has an allocation should give you the production number which has a production date already scheduled

My dealer told me they had an allocation. I ordered on Saturday. I got an email confirmation on Monday. I logged in a few days later and the car was in "Production Begins" already so it was less than a week.

Can you expand on this? I have a production number since that is required to even track the car through bmw's website. Are you saying that there will also be a production date on the top of the order page? Or that each number has an associated date already and maybe bmw's website is inaccurate.

Thanks.

The production number means you do have a production slot. That could be next week or next month. Your dealer should know which production week has been secured.
In my case there was a week between order date (received production number right away) and start of production.

First order took about 3 weeks to go from Documents received to "in production". Noticed the car didn't have manual transmission, contacted my sales rep and he had to redo the order and give me a new production number. This time it took about 8 days for it to go from "documents received" to "production begins".

Took 10 days for the first car to go from production begins to finished. Still can track the first car.

Just called my dealer and asked about the one week wait since at the time of signing he said he had allocation and it should start production within a couple of days.

After I originally signed my build/order a week ago, I called back later that night to add heated seats which I didn't originally option out. He said this bumped my production to next week--so I guess any changes even if made the same night may push production back. It seems like the build change pushed it back a week or two.

If it moves to production next week it will be 2 weeks+ from order to production.

Try removing your car (production number) then add it back and see if that does anything. Make sure you log out and log back in afterwards.

My dealer had an allocation and it has been 8 days since my order was submitted. The website still says that the order is documented. I called and was advised that production is scheduled but there is no production date as of yet. Interested to hear how others are doing?

My order was placed on April 7th and still listed as "Order accepted with no production date" I have an email into my salesman for some updated info.

I'm in a similar boat, placed my 235i order on 4/20 and got my production # the next day. My CA said he had a slot for this week and my production should start any day. I've also read the BMW site has a 48 hour delay so I figured I'd bother him again next week if I still see no progress online.

Just heard from my CA and was told that my car went into production today, by his estimates he thinks it should be here by Memorial day/End of May. Not sure if this is realistic, but sounds good to me.

Exactly. My M235i didn't show "In Production" until I did this. Now, it's on the Tulane with an ETA next week. Short of contacting your CA, the 800 number is the next best bet (but appears to be about 24-48 h delayed on status).

I placed my order for a 2015 M235i on 4/13 and it just entered production today (5/8) so 26 days. Waiting is tough.

I'm debating on building one but I'm hearing that the start to finish time is 70-90 days. I'm trying to decide if I should put my order in while I'm still in Germany for pick-up in the states if it's even worth it. I was also told that most of the 15 allocations are done and my car would be a 2016 build instead and I wouldn't actually pick up the car until late Sept to beginning Oct which doesn't work for me. I won't have a vehicle and get to the states mid August. Any imput?

i placed my order 3/24, but didn't get a production number until May 4th. I think the dealer had trouble getting an allocation. Im still in "order documented" phase - did you actually get a notification once you went into production, or did you just keep pinging the site obsessively like I am
