my m235i vs a new 240i ?
I bought a 2016 M235i as my first BMW and it is a play car currently in storage for winter. I am 60 some years old and have just recently found that cars can be fun to drive. ( been a motorcycle guy my whole life until now). I like the M235i which I bought on the internet and it was delivered to my driveway. I had never drove one but had a ride in my nephews 2009 M car and it was very impressive. Since I like this car is it any way practical to trade this in on a new 240i. Or lease one for the fun of it ? I am not tracking the car and I live 100 miles from nearest BMW dealer. Is there reliability concerns on my 235i since I know nothing about prior owner...car fax stated one owner lease turn in. I have found nothing wrong with the car but its not new or a 240i ? Tell me your thoughts I love to hear others perspective.

I have driven both cars and there is no difference other than the engine. The 240 feels faster as it has more torque and it pulls to redline, while the 235 dies once you approach redline.
The $20,000 price difference between a used 235 and a new 240 is not justifiable. If you are concerned about the health of your engine, get your engine oil tested by a lab. |
