I hope I don't have to replace the tire. I'm thinking of going to get it plugged. What are your thoughts?
Thanks! |

The nail looks very close to the sidewall, get the tire technicians to take the tire off the rim and have a look from the inside. If they decide to fix it, make sure you get it patched from the inside with tire repair mushroom plug, not a string plug that someone will plug in from the top. They might tell you the tire is unrepairable because the patch has to sit on a flat surface and being too close to the sidewall it won't be a permanent repair. Good luck! |

You can repair Bridgestone RFTs as the manufacturer allows it. I'm not too sure about Michelin but for Pirelli and Continental it is not recommended.
Michelin pilot super sports is what he has. |

I am pretty sure given the location so close to the sidewall you will need to replace it. Bad luck. My nail was in the center but I have P7 so they would not repair it and I had to get a new tire.

it wasn't an option when I ordered my 2014 in the US either. weird how many combos of tires can be configured. Are they staggered? When I ordered my 2014 you could get staggered non run flats or all the same size run flats.

Of course, these are only recommendations, not mandates. Personally, I've had RFTs repaired and never had any issues, but then again, I'm not a very aggressive driver. |

Agreed Oz 235s are not runflats. I had a puncture yesterday requiring a BMW roadside assistance tow to Bob Jane.

I got a nail in a similar spot but it went in sideways and hit the sidewall. I had to replace the tire. |

yep that's another thing the original poster, who thought he had run flats, can look for. I know I don't have run flats as I made sure when I ordered mine that box wasn't checked, and I got the default, staggered, Michelin Pilot Super Sports that I wanted. I had enough of run flats in my 335!
