Buy now or wait for 2016 model
The company I work for is a subsidiary of Sonic Automotive, so we get their employee discount. This is what they offered me on a 2015. Mind you I plan on doing PDC since I am only an hour away
MSRP $51,425.00 Price $48,711.00 plus taxes, tags, and closing fee. Total $50,585.33 I am thinking I could do better as I technically can go through any dealership since I am doing the PDC. I also plan to drop down $15k on the car to get payments lower. I know the 2016 are right around the corner so was thinking I might get a better deal now on a 2015, but since I would be ordering not sure if that applies. I am tempted to just wait until early next year and order a car. This way I can see what the M2 will really be. Doubt I will get an M2, but depending on price it could be possible. Think I can get a better deal, and is it worth getting a 15 or wait till the 16 comes out? Ken~ |

There are no differences in the 15-16 so far. The only changes already happened in the beginning of March production cars that included a couple interior changes. So far there's no word for any changes for '16.

What are these changes? I ordered mine end of April and I wasn't aware of any updates and I've been researching this for months. Hopefully good ones!

- aluminum trim around center A/C vents (mirrors look of aluminum around HVAC and stereo controls) - HVAC display is white in daytime and switches to orange for nighttime - No ASD on 228i models (there is still some conjecture about this; could still exist in M Sport models); ASD in the M235i may be integrated into the standalone amplifier now. 2016s are rumored to have a version of Nav as standard equipment, but that's only a rumor. If the OP wants a 2015, he should order in the next week. The 2016 Buying Guide could come out as early as next week. Once that's released, any order will be a 2016 model. That said, I doubt seriously that the OP will see any sort of significant discount for a 2015 unless he finds an unsold one on a lot somewhere ... and the BMW PC doesn't have a lot, IIRC.

There are 3 just sitting on the lot in Charlotte. They are not moving like the 228i. You could probably negotiate a good deal. Ordering prob not.

The car in question has the following options:
M2351 Coupe 8-speed Auto Estoril Blue Coral Red Dakota Leather Premium Package Technology Package Drivers Assist Packages Cold Weather Package Harmon Kardon Sound The only other change I am debating on is to go with White Exterior, but all other options will be the same. I know this would knock off $500 or so. I didn't think there would be any changes for 2016 model, but wasn't 100% sure if anyone knew. Don't think I can buy one from the lot and still do the PDC or can I...? I see some M235i on the lot here, but they are asking WAY too much for what they are. May go this Sat. and see what they can do. Ken~ |

Can anyone back this up? I was planning on ordering a 2015 in 2 weeks, should I go do that this weekend? |

I was wondering the same thing about a month ago, but figured that I would be ordering a car either way. A sales manager at one of my local dealerships looked up the ordering information and told me that I could order a 2015 until the second week of June, but any orders after that would be for a 2016. He also said there were no changes (that he knew of) to be made for MY16 other than the price...although he could not tell me how much of a price increase there would be. I ended up ordering a car with a production date in late June, and the order form itself says "Quota: 2015/6"...so I'm kinda hoping my car will end up being a MY2016 at the 2015 price, but really just want to get it ASAP.

Order while you can, drive while you can, enjoy while you can. If you keep putting all of your brains into it, you'll end up waiting for the 17, 18 or 19 model. Now, yes, try to get a good deal out of the '15:
Use future's prospective to gain a deal on the present. |

Similar dilemma to buying a computer. If you keep waiting to get next years "better model," you'll never buy one.
Jump in, have fun. Trade in a year or two or three if you must.

For what it's worth to everyone on this thread, I've still been promised a good deal on a 2016 M235i, which will be $500 over invoice with invoice pricing on all options. That applies for both ED and US delivery.
HOWEVER -- he did give me a word of caution: BMWFS is running a special of 0.9% for 3 years (I'm doing 3 yrs) right now, but he thinks he heard 3.19% for 3 years for the 2016's. That's a big difference. |

Mineral white on red would be classier than the superman combo.. Depends what you're going for. I love my mineral white so much! Amazing depth and so much nicer than alpine in my opinion (I wanted estoril blue but couldn't turn down the deal I got on the MW)

Yeah, 0.9% is fantastic...I'm doing 3/yr 0.9% and it is really nothing! Real happy w/ my '15 demo car ... got a good discount and a loaded M235ix w/ more CF parts than I'd ever think to order

On the M235i 500 over is a good deal. I paid invoice for my 228i but have not heard anybody getting better on a M235i.
