I had it in my 1 series convertible but my F30 3 series has no nav and no HK sound. (non premium sound sucks IMHO).
I have the HK on my 335is (which has more power and more speakers). After over 1300 miles in the 2 without HK, I really didn't miss the HK in my 3. HK plays louder without distortion, but the sound quality is almost the same. I think the speakers are identical except for separate tweeters in the HK option. More power means it will play louder without as much distortion, but for normal listening levels, it was totally fine.

BMW changes packages all the time and it's quite possible that the F30 without any packages received a really bad system. I don't know. I can tell you from first hand experience in the 2 series without HK and arguably a better system in my 3 series (13 speakers with 420w I believe), you don't get much for your $875.

I believe in the F3x world, getting a 320 or 328 without HK leaves you with a pretty terrible system (I think I got a non HK loaner once and it didn't sound very good). I don't think the F2x line has different packages. It is either HK or non-HK, but they don't have a premium and top-hifi and HK like other lines had, or what you would find on the options list in England, for instance.

Are you sticking with A/S RFTs or are you going for the winter boots?
I have MW M235 w/P7 RFT and we had some heavy rain and a little sleet this evening. Tires were warmed up and I was pleased with how they handled.

It's turning cold in NY now and we've had some rain some pretty heavy and the car handles amazing even in horrible weather. Unlike my moms Lexus SC430 which is horrible in ALL weather besides for perfect days this car has the power and the pick up even with wet roads. The xdrive gives the car tons of control and I'm not slipping and sliding all over the road.

Thanks for the update.
Are you sticking with A/S RFTs during the winter? If so please advise as to how they perform in snow this winter.
