CEL and Drivetrain Malfunction

Hey guys i just got my 2015 m235 xdrive today and after 70 miles of driving the car has a CEL and it says drivetrain malfunction. What should I do? Should i take it back to the BMW dealer it's crazy the car only has 70 miles on it.

That's not a bad idea, it's still under warranty!

Let us know what they find though.

Definitely bring it back to your dealer. I would think they'll be all over the issue.

I hope this isn't a recurring problem for you, the dealer will fix it though

Yes I am in 5th grade you caught me.

I'd check things like gas cap tightness and even disconnected tubing in the engine bay or try fresh gas before having to go to dealer.
Though, your CEL is still on ?

I had two drivetrain malfunctions within 500 miles on the car. I'm now at 5500 and have not an issue since.

Driving today my new 2015 m235, same problem, cel light and drivetrain malfunction and power was retarded

I stopped and the car was HOT, engine bay, front fenders, everything v hot.

This could be due to the fact I was driving at 175km/h in sport + , manual mode, in 33 degrees celcius weather and only 500 miles on the clock...

Car is fine again now, but taking into dealer tomorrow..

Any thoughts?
