M235i Squeak in rear Suspension..
So its driving me completely mad. At slow speeds over big bumps I get a little "squeak" best way i can describe it. I have it lowered with the Dinan springs but drove it that way for months with no noise. I'm in WI so I put on winter tires. I thought maybe it could be the cold but we had a rare 70 degree February day and still there. Any thoughts would be appreciated

You literally answered your own question. You're asking people in an 2 series forum about a suspension issue with your Dinan springs.
Perhaps you'd have better luck on the Dinan boards. Last edited by xojustin; 02-28-2017 at 05:40 PM.. Reason: suspension / springs (wrong word) |

Thanks for all your insight, I also said it didn't start when I put on the Dinan springs

2015 m235 stock. I think my driveway may flex the chassis, always try to be in comfort mode when entering and exiting it. And my roads even at the speed limit, the dips had/sometimes caused a squeak on compression/rebound on the rear. (but I do recall squeaks sometimes from the front). Also I'm in the mid-Atlantic, I would hose down the underside of the chassis after snow and in the summer - dry out rubber?
When I first heard the squeak I thought about taking it do dealer...up until this post I've realized the squeak probably went away. Maybe on a fast dip I'd get noise but haven't noticed anything lately and I've stayed away from hosing off the suspension area, just the wheel-wells. |

Try jacking or raising the car up completely to allow all four corners to decompress and "re-seat". It's free and takes under 10 minutes. There is an insulator on the bottom of the front spring as well, or at least there should be? Check to make sure it's there, and in good condition while you're at it.
Have you been able to pinpoint which area of the car the noise is coming from? Front, back, LR, etc...

I had a terrible squeak that lasted about 2 days, but would happen even getting into the car (and completely reproducible - 100% of the time, for most any movement). The fact that it went away so completely had me thinking that it was crud in the spring perch, or similar. You might try hitting spring perches with a quick shot of wd40 to see if it helps, probably along with the unloading trick noted above.

Interesting topic as it pertains to me as well. Car squeaks when temps fall below 40 degrees here in Connecticut. I have two speed bumps to drive over on the way out of my complex. Front and rear squeaks. Pretty embarrassing for a 50k car. Stock suspension. Funny thing is that it didn't do it the first winter I had the car. Not even worth a trip to the dealer. Winter is winding down. Lease is up in October.......

I have an M240i and it happened to me a little over a month ago but haven't taken it in to get fixed yet. Back right it seems like and more specifically when it rains. Also, recently I have had a problem with a ticking sound when turning the wheel right and moving slowly. Seems like it's coming from the front driver side. 3 issues with my car so far, pretty sad for a $50k car... I don't trust my local dealer so I really don't want to take it in. Looking for what dealer in the state I can take it to that I trust.
