I'm currently trying to find the torque figures for the brake system, and I started to think...wouldn't it be nice to have a maintenance manual for the car.

Anyone know where to pick one up? Not having much luck with Google!

I think BMW keeps tight reigns on the maintenance manuals. There's a thread in the DIY forum where there is debate about the torque on the oil drain plug. It seems that BMW does not want owners doing much in terms of maintenance.

That said, can you buy the official service manuals?

Bentley Manuals are great service manuals, but they aren't available for all BMW models. There is an electronic service manual for some Z4's, but I don't know who makes it (might be sourced from BMW).

I know of no other source of reputable service manuals in those cases not covered by the above.

Just curious -- has anyone purchased a F3X 3/4 series bentley manual as a substiutuion for not having a 2 series manual readily avaiable?

When I had a 1 series, Bentley never created a 1 series manual so I had to use the 3 series manual for reference. Most of the information was transferrable to the 1 series.

Alldata.com - sometimes libraries have access to their manuals. Alldata, I would guess has specific F22... repair and maintenance.

Yes, I have one, they are soo similar, nothing I have come across is that much different.
