YANM. I just ordered a 2018 M240i coupe with mt6, moonroof delete, Estoril Blue, Cognac dakota leather, non-run-flat, premium package, adaptive headlights. I think that's all. I used to drive a WRX and got persuaded by family obligations to get an Outback. Man there is nothing wrong with that car and it serves my every need except a great driving experience. I'm keeping the Outback but it won't be my go-to car.
Excited about the car. Life is good. |

Congrats!! You will love this car. I am at 3500 miles on mine in less than 3 months and I get a big smile every time I press the right pedal. I too have a Subaru as family car but believe it or not, a child seat fits just right in the back of the M240i and we end up using it for most of the road trips now. (Trunk space is pretty decent too.)
When are you expecting yours to be delivered? Did they start building the 2018s already? |

I am definitely looking forward to this. I hope that the mt6 works out. I didn't get a chance to drive one because there are basically none available new or used. No issues driving manual of course but no experience with this particular one.

Nice congrats! Which outback the old two tone one? Think R&T did an article a few months back on those the "car of the millionaires" or something.

New Outback. Tried to make it fun but I don't really drive off-road. Still, a very practical car. Also, not a great driving experience. I believe you can't really get it all in one vehicle.

I think the Macan comes closest if you need one vehicle that will do everything, but you'd be hard pressed to find a better combo than a 2-series and a Subie if you're going to have two in the garage. I mean, aside from having stupid money tied up in cars. That combo gets you 95% of what you need for 50% of the cost of any nicer pairing.

Yea the Outback is pretty cool, it actually off-roads pretty well! One of my buddies shares one with his wife and we use it to shuttle mountain bikes, etc. and it takes most of the logging roads that my Colorado goes on (most) pretty well. And for anyone who's not a "performance" oriented driver, it's a great all'rounder. Almost every other car here in my region is a Subi, and I get why, but I just don't like the "limited" utility of a hatchback, so I opted for the smaller sized pickup 4x4 to get around all four seasons and take care of what the "toy" can't handle. Keeps the mileage down on the toy, as well, which is always refreshing
