What up what up,

Just picked up my new M240i xdrive last month and loving it. Being my first BMW it seemed like a nice entry point and the car is great (although I wish the M2 was available at the time I needed a new car)

I was a little bummed out as its already in the shop cause the telecommunication module was causing the entire electrical system to go haywire and the microphone isn't working but certainly impressed with the service (but should I be with a brand new car?)

Was wondering if anyone else had this problem? Been in the shop for 2 days and I'm chomping at the bit to let her rip again

Welcome!

It's not a problem I've heard about. Always a posiblity to get somthing bad. And yes you should get good service!

Hopefully the problem will be fixed soon and you can get back to enjoying your new car!

As cars become increasingly rolling computers the probability of problems will also increase. "A multitude of simplicity inadvertently becomes complexity."

Sorry OP. Stuff like that does happen. I'm sure you're driving a decent loaner and you'll have it back before you know it.

Cars are much more reliable, durable, and efficient than when I started driving (shortly after the stone age) , but..... what you said.

I had my AC unit go bad at about 2500 miles and it was in the shop on and off for two weeks. Dealer was really great about the whole ordeal, and the car runs perfect now. A small blip on the radar and now I'm at 12,000 miles with no further trouble. Just a little low on coolant last week, but that's nothing to worry about in these hot temps in my area I guess. It's happened to other cars I've owned.

Initially, my blue tooth and phone connections were having trouble, but the update BMW pushed out seems to have fixed the problem with connectivity.

I've got my fingers crossed. I have a 2018 m240i coupe on order. MT6, moonroof delete, non-runflats, premium package, adaptive lights. Color me "excited."

Sucks, but it happens. If your car is in and out a few times and you can't drive it give BMWNA a call. They often times will comp you a monthly payment for the hassle so you're not spending money on something that you can't use.

This is great advice.. My car sat in LA for almost a month and I had to be the, "Squeaky wheel" to get things moving.. It got lost in the paperwork shuffle.. I contacted BMWNA, they apologized profusely and offered a discount at signing..

It may be a big corporation, but they actually make an effort. Which you rarely see with other corporations..

Update: I was roughly out of the car for a week so it wasn't too bad. Was in a x3 so not too shabby. First the module was bad, then the new module wasn't working with the microphone so they replaced that too. Got great service at the dealership, definitely wasn't what I was expecting. No month off of payments but dealer gave me $250 to use in the shop which was alot more than I was expecting.
