I wanted to keep my car basically stock as it is a stopgap until M2 comes out. I modified the hell out of my 2007 335i coupe; but I have to say this Dinan exhaust sounds exactly right. Nice addition. Congratulations.

Fellas it is pretty much a given what has happened here, dyno came back with same or lower than stock #'s.......Steve was brought into the loop and now the tap dancing begins!!! All I have to say.......if any Dinan 235's find there way to Bay area, I will be more that happy to meet up at Sac Raceway or Laguna Seca and see real world results!

Oh and this thread reminds me of that girl we all took out to dinner, great conversation over a few drinks!!!! Venue changes to local night club and some time with two of you having great chemisty on the dance floor!! End up leaving the club after couple hours, with you driving her home and looking to close the deal!!! Pull into her driveway and come to find out she still lives with her parents!!!!

For the dyno runs with F series automatics I thought they were supposed to be done in 5th gear? That goes up to 140mph or so.

Mike
Mike, you are correct. The Dyno runs for the auto are done in 5th gear. Think the tuner got excited about getting the first pull in and took it to 6th gear by mistake.

The Dynojet was working perfectly all day as my car was the last one on for the day. As I stood there and watched I thought to myself this run is taking a long time to redline. When Dan jump out and said, "Sorry, I had it in 6th instead of fifth, she hit 166 mph!". Have that run recorded and probably to share at least that run with everyone when I get back home.

Again, once my current issue gets resolved by outside party(s) I will post my results. And no, I haven't been drafted into NASA with a new time travel device either.

''By outside party(s)''... the plot thickens!

Side question, is 5th also the closest gear with 1:1 on the 6MT?

Who wants to take bets if OP completely regrets his decision?

Hopefully the OP gets his issues resolved and his car running better than ever.

I'm still on track for my 9/3 install but I am trying to work in before and after dyno pulls. I've had my reseller converse with Dinan to make sure we our good to move forward as a result of what may have happened to the OP. If everything goes according to plan I should be able to share some data next week, hopefully it is positive data or it will be returned to stock

Yeah, this is kind of embarrassing, but at least let this whole thing play out. It is what it is. With all the talk in the other thread regarding JB4 vs. Dinan, it would be funny except honestly I don't wish any harm to anyone's car... Just a crazy turn of events in how ardently both products were argued and how so far there was a JB4 issue that was apparently resolved pretty quickly and publicly from the beginning and Dinan is putting the gag on theirs.

I don't think there's a shop in the area with a dyno. But I heard there's a technical college nearby that has one. I'll try to contact them this week and try to before and after runs....I hope Dinan doesn't disappoint.
Cool..It sounds good. So is the exhaust sound constant all the time or does it change when in sport mode? Also when you change the springs does your ride now permanently ride that way or does it still adjust? guess i'm little confused changing from comfort to sport in my m235i once you change everything out with aftermarket parts is it only throttle response now that is the difference? My 2008 135i didn't have sport mode so this is all new to me so sorry if sounds like dumb question

Springs are lower, but stock dampers/shocks will still be adjustable, so all that still works. Others with the H&R springs have said the ride felt pretty much the same, comfort wise... maybe a little stiffer overall.

I don't know what happened to OP's car but for those that have purchased the dinan tune just for peace of mind until further info from OP, I've been running the tune on my 335i for 2 months and love it. Is it 2k love? Probably not but no regrets. Purchased it for 300 off msrp and dealer charge of install plus tax. Take the attached picture for what it's for since it's not an official dyno but the power is there. Critics from people that I've taken for a spin say that it's definitely a lot faster. For some dyno numbers is all that matter, if I wasn't so tied with work (military) then I would provided something with more substance. Also note that I'm not great at launching the car so probably could do better.

Also OP it would be great that at minimum if you could just address the fact whether it's the tune or tuner that effed up. Thanks!

What 0-60 were you getting prior?

Okay, to just give some updates. The car was Dyno'd for 4 runs. The first was performed in the wrong gear (6th instead of 5th). The sensor wire for measuring the torque was knocked loose and could not give an accurate reading for pulls 2 & 3; which read 1000 TQ!

The fourth run was clean with good connections to the car and true readings of both HP and TQ. A little bit of heat soak occurring by the 4th pull. Dinan has asked I forward the Dynojet files for inspection. Until I get word back from Dinan I will not published the numbers. The 4th run was clean and the graph shows a smooth power increase straight to redline; better than my previous runs with the BMS N55 Stage 1. I felt this immediately after installation of the Dinan and the Dyno confirmed it. Once I get the all clear, I will publish the files here on this thread.

Stay Tuned (no pun intended).

Bare in mind the m235 is faster then 335 stock. 0-60 on a m235 will be slightly better and obviously driver experience is a factor. Still trying to dial in the perfect launch with minimal to 0 wheel spin that should result a better time. All this info is subjective because of the different variables one might come across to ie temp, heat soak, tires, drivers experience and the list goes on. Just wanted to give some reassurance to those who have bought the system already. From your last post it seems like you're enjoying the tune as much as I have been.
