Recaros??

Anyone know what things I would need to get recaros working on the M235i?
After sitting in them on a CLA45 AMG today, I am just amazed and highly disappointed that BMW does not offer performance seats!

I am really considering getting some. However, I want airbag functionality and everything else since this car will be mostly daily driven, with hopefully a few track days, but first and foremost daily driving. Everything I have seen so far seems really difficult .

The ones I am considering are the recaro sportster CS, but not sure about what is needed. Also seems like only the euro versions come with airbags.

Have you never heard of BMW performance seats?
Same as the racaro CS but with:
Airbags, power movement, and heated seats.

Yup! Problem for me is that they are too expensive, and I'm not sure how the alcantera will hold up in daily driving!

I'm secretly hoping BMW will release a performance seat option soon that is US compatible

i had alcantara seats in my last A3 quattro and they were AMAZING. way better than leather....i wish i could have gotten alcantara seats in my 135is. they wear very well....just need a damp cloth and water to freshen them up.....fantastic.

Seats that have the functionality you're asking for are going to cost about that much no matter what.

My 2005 ZHP has alcantara seats, and after 95,000 miles, they have held up better than any leather seats I've ever had with minimal maintenance.

I wouldn't hesitate to get them again.

+another on how well alcantara seats wear.

I really wish we had a cloth option here in the US; leather/pleather just rubs me the wrong way, literally.

A non-airbag Recaro would cost you around $1200 with a base. Any of these other options and you're looking at multiples of that.

this was my inspiration btw

I wonder now if the recaro are even legal. It says on their website they are legal in the US, and the airbags are universal... so does that mean I am ok?
