US vs Canadian Spec

Does anyone know if Americans and Canadians have the option to order either spec car? If I don't want a moonroof can I order Canadian spec?

I think the answer to your question is no and no, although I'd be happy to be wrong. BMWNA does not want you to own a BMW without a moonroof unless it is an M car (and the M235i doesn't count). Good luck, and please post back here if you find better information.

Off topic...

What does everyone think about the z4?? I'm kinda debating a z4 35i with the hyper orange pack.

just cant have your cake and eat it too
Good catch, that's not what the pictures showed. It also has the damn rear spoiler. Might have to go with Sport line except the wheels are not staggered.

I have an '09 which I have a love/hate relationships with. I get tons of compliments about it and love it in the summer, but the ride is *harsh*.

If you get the car--and this might be obvious to people but I bought it used so I had no choice--stay clear of the 19" wheels. Those combined with the RFT make the car ABSOLUTELY TERRIBLE unless you live somewhere where all the roads are perfect. I have the adaptive suspension and that may only make things worse, but the entire combo is hard to live, particularly in the northeast. I switched to non-RFT and the ride is still pretty jarring. I actually much prefer my partner's '11 328i (though I do miss the power).

That said, again, the styling is great, the interior is beautiful, I've had zero issues of any sort with it and it still turns heads.

4MR - Aluminum Hexagon interior trim is standard on the M235i. It's apparently a little lighter colored then the Hex on the 335is.

I asked for a sunroof delete which they couldn't answer and I didn't want to hold things up. I did find it interesting that it's a option on a 228i but standard on the M235i. You'd think the delete would be desired like they did with the old M Coupes.

How does your trade work in this? You just work out the deal at the time of delivery and if you aren't happy with the trade price they give, you take back your deposit and walk?

I want to order my next car and think it should be simple enough to lock in a price for the new car at time of order, but not sure how to come out OK on the trade on a special ordered car; don't want the dealer to think they have the upper hand based on emotional attachment when the new car I ordered is sitting right there ready for pickup after waiting 2-3 months expecting me to take it up the rear on the trade.

EDIT: I see you're leasing, so no trade most likely.

Which M Coupes? For my Z3 M Coupe the sunroof was an option (and adding it actually gave almost two more inches of head room, which I needed for track days), the Z4 and 1M Coupe didn't have them at all, they weren't a delete option, they just weren't offered.

The claim is that the fogs block cooling for warm climate cars, so US, Middle East and some other markets have no fogs. I prefer that look and only use my fogs to flash other bozos with them on when I do have them.

Call me a bozo then, as I use mine all the time. I paid for them, and they help with lighting immediately in front of the car, so why not use them all the time? Front end always looks more complete with them on, IMO. They also help with peripheral lighting so you can see the edge of the road.

They don't blind anyone, as they point at the ground, as they should, so not sure why you wouldn't use them. Contrary to their name, they really don't do much good in fog, so there's really no reason to save them for foggy days, which are almost never in most places.

Sorry, MY2000-2002 (dork, boot) was optioned with a moonroof option. You'd think they'd WANT to dump the weight in the M235, or give a option to. I never use mine now.

Honestly with a new release the dealer has you regardless. My dealer had a $22k dealer markup on all his 1M coupes on the floor and sold them all. I don't expect this with the M235, but that's why I'm ordering now just in case.

If it's needed I have the pricing and option sheets effective December 20th, 2013. There are some changes from the .pdf on page one of this thread. I'm sure it's already on the forum somewhere, but if not I'm happy to try and post it.

Thread has been updated with the updated pricing and ordering guide effective December 20, 2013 (thank you GolfProGiff).

M Sport Brakes are now a standalone option.

So they basically took a $1400 DHP package that included the Msport brakes, took the Msport brakes out and made them a separate $650 option, while changing the DHP price to $1000. So in short, they are asking for another $250.
