my order
Good morning to all. I placed an order December 23 for an EB m235i with tech/premium/cold weather packages, Hk and the LSD. It has been a little less than 2 months and I still havent received a Vin number which I got pretty quickly when I ordered my 335. However, according to the dealer this car should be here by the end of the month. I am now worried that either im being taken for a longer ride than expected or if this is the norm with this car given it is so rare. I am in Brooklyn and have only seen 2 on the road so far. Any info from the experts I would greatly appreciate. Thanks.

Then the dealer is pulling your leg and hasn't even placed your order into the system yet. You get the production order number as soon as the order is put into the system. This assumes your dealer has an allocation to place an order.
FYI, I got my production order number within an hour of placing my deposit on 1/26. |

So basically if there is no production number yet then ill be waiting around 4 months to get my car?? Seeing that it takes a month to ship and obviously some time to build.. If thats even a possibility.. Or is it not a matter of if but when?

If you don't have a production number, you don't have a build order. No build order, indefinite wait.

Ill be calling at 12 when i go on my break. If there is no production number ill cancel the deal right there and go somewhere else n get an x5 i suppose. I would continue to search for the car i want which is indeed the 235, but trying to get one of these has been nothing but a hassel. 3 dealers all promised then said they couldnt produce the car aftewards. Just tired of all the nonsense w trying to get something im willing to pay good money for. smh.

If you want a 235 and dealers in your area are not receptive then I would give you my salesman's name in Baltimore and others on this forum could probably recommend advisers and dealerships. |

Which dealership is it? (I'm also in NY)
Your alternative is to order with European delivery, the discount will pay for the trip easily. Not gonna save you time but the dates will be nailed down solid so you will know exactly what to expect when. Or get a different model that is built in the US (X models or Z4) as those get delivered quicker. |

Bmw of Oyster Bay. I used a leasing co which is getting the car from them. Just confirmed indeed no production number available. Salesman says he will get back to me today in which I told him the deal is off if no production number is produced by days end. ScottSinger and anyone else that has a dealer they think may be able to help me get the car I want please send me their info. Otherwise, X5 it is.

No he did not. The deal is indeed dead. However, Bmw of bayside informed me they have an allocation for the build and all the information will be exchanged shortly.

All seasons.. I already have tires in my garage waiting to go on the wheels I pick for it. So whatever choice will sit in my garage anyway. I had them on my 335 and they still have plenty of life left in them. Just going to put snows on the rims I have now n take my performance tires n get a new set of wheels.

Production number produced!! Production number produced!! Now I can relax and order some mods. Friggin Bmw.. My job doesn't work me this hard and they pay me. Also just for some who may not know, it looks like the limiter is increased if you order the performance tires so don't get duped with that slightly hidden detail. I nearly ordered the all seasons..
