I am loving our new M235xi 10,000km compared to our old 135i we traded in. You can not even compare the two in winter driving conditions, the xi is super fun and a hell of a lot safer in winter conditions. Both cars equipped with high end snows tires on 17" rims. And compared to my Audi S5 the M235xi is more nimble and feels far more stable, not to mention a hell of a lot quicker
This is my first Xdrive and I am very impressed with it so far. My biggest concern is the height of my front splitter.... its so low that I am worried it is going to get torn off. So many guys are hung up on rwd being the pure sports car choice but I think many are ill informed and have never experienced awd done right. This is not your old school 4wd found in a F150 I have had several Audi's and Porsche's in awd and I have no regrets. |

Owned over 10 BMW's in 25 years..Including the last two generation M3's.
The M235xi is the best car I've owned since my E46 M3.. Plenty of threads on AWD vs RWD..No need to rehash it here.

Did your xDrive come with mixed summer performance tires or 18 square? And does your car sit higher than a RWD?

You can search for this info, researching the xDrive version of the M235 will enlighten you as to its capabilities. And what it's made for. It's been posted repeatedly. Short answers are no, no and no. Sorry Midwest for jumping in but I think I've got your back on this one

I would be interested in that research if you have it handy, can you provide a link?
Also, I believe the question has been answered but want to verify again. Gap between tire and fender is no different M235I vs Xi? Due to M-adaptive suspension, correct? |

Also, additional confirmation:
18" double-spoke 436M wheels w/ mixed summer tires = staggered setup with MSS? Quote shows 2PG 18" double-spoke 436M wheels w/ mixed summer tires I would prefer Michelin's... Last edited by drexplode; 02-25-2015 at 09:26 PM.. |

Why not just talk to the xi owners on this forum? We got more seat time in one vs any rag off the magazine rack

When I go on the BMW website they claim 0-60 of 4.4 for the xdrive version, so not sure where this 5 flat comes in? I'd venture to guess 4.2 0-60 would be realistic for the xdrive as the non-xdrive has been clocked at 4.4 and BMW claims 4.6. Any rate I've test driven both, m235i is quicker from the start, and even more so when cruising and punching. I would have liked the 4 doors vs. the coupe for my dog getting in/out, but just didn't find the drive of the S3 all that great in comparison and comparably equipped they are close to the same price with BMW offering better financing deals from what I could gather, so ordered the M235 xdrive. I'm sure people would be happy with either car as they aren't worlds apart. Only way to know which is better for you is to drive them both and figure out your preference.
