I had one on my 235 and it was great for being a quick plug and play piggyback. I'm actually selling my unit that's been used for 800 miles - I got JB4. Let me know if you're interested

I just installed mine a couple of weeks ago and love it. Still smooth as butter but have noticed slight throttle lag. Easy install, good price, and awesome performance!

I'm running the AFE tune, but I'm familiar with the JB+ and you will feel a difference in power, but not drivability. I don't know what other mods you have done, but you will notice a little bit of quickness over stock. The rears will break loose a little easier with the extra power, but not at high speeds unless you are really on it. Its a lot of fun at low speeds, but at highway speeds the car gets pretty illegal in a hurry. Before you can notice a difference up there you will probably be doubling the speed limit. It is a nice and comfortable increase, nothing too crazy and still drives like a dream.

When you say at low speeds, does that mean you feel the torque more when doing 0-30 or 0-45? |

The car already is so responsive from 0-45, but the little bump in power makes this car feel more tossable. At a stop until almost 60 the power is instantaneous and its not hard to get the tires breaking free and to get the car sliding and powering through turns. It is also very easy to trigger the safety features as well. Just be careful, this car is incredibly powerful. I would get used to the car for a couple weeks before you put in the tune. Unless you are coming from something very similiar. The car in stock form is as close to perfect as you can get at 43k, in my opinion, so I would try to enjoy it for a little and then you will really notice the tune. Enjoy the car and post up some pics when it arrives.

I have it on my 335i whose lease is up soon and my 235i should arrive in its place in 2 months. It's fun......really shines in the midrange....runs out of steam a bit up top though.

You are going to love the 235, it is really the perfect size. With the same mods the 2 is a beast and trust me I know what a capable car the 335 can be. This is the point I was trying to make, lots of fun and power availability where it counts (at least on the streets).

the JB stage 1 is the most popular tune for your car.
Here is a dyno graph comparing stage 1 to stock (ignore the dinan comparison, thats the only graph i found on Burger Tuning website)

+1 Its amazing how powerful stock is. I'm still getting my butt dyno baseline comfortable with all three modes (comfort, sport, S+) before dumping more power on it. A track season summer should sort me out and maybe a JB4 before next track season :P I won't need it before winter though.

I'm leaning towards the JB Stage 1 instead of the JB4 since this is a lease and I won't be adding mods. Couple questions for you guys just so I'm sure this is the right choice.
Does Stage 1 change the throttle mapping at all? Can you remove the 1st and 2nd gear boost limits with a Stage 1? |

BMS replied that Stage 1 doesn't have the capability to erase the boost limits in 1st and 2nd. So back to considering the JB4, but I need something clean for a leaser. My understanding is it is all plug and play except a couple wires that have to tapped through those little pin hole connectors? Is JB4 map 1 basically the same as the Stage 1 tune?

Similar but not the same.. I've realize Stage 1 is very jolty while JB4 Map 1 smooths out throughout the powerband. I'm currently running Map 5 though

So if I am only planning on doing an MPE and maybe an intake, should I just stick with the JB stage 1? The JB4 is only really useful if you are removing or replacing catalytic converters then?
