I believe the dealers code replacement keys.

BMW is now coloring the keys to match the trim level of the car (I believe it's black for Base, silver for Luxury, beige for Modern, red for Sport, blue for M-Sport). I'm not sure why they started doing this, but it only started recently (with the F30 I believe). Some of the new cars (new X5 and i8 come to mind) have a totally different key design. Not sure if those come in trim level colors.

Custom colored keys aren't so far-fetched though. Porsche has an option where you can have the keys come in the same color as the car. It's a $365 option on the Cayman.
Yeah I didn't check that box on my Macan and those are easy to swap out aftermarket. But it's a nice option to have.

Oh well, no big deal. And it's not even a custom color, it's the color they already have, why not let customer buy the key he wants. I totally don't think it's too much. Custom color is too much, but when the factory already produces blue, red, silver and beige keys anyways, why not to give us a choice. That was my only point.

you serious? the only thing I've gotten from any of you're posts was bragging about how well you were doing for yourself. no one cares dude. how would you know how many languages I even speak? you need to stop generalizing and making assumptions.

On the side note, you're not the only one with that lifestyle, so stop acting like some hot shot

Just in my experience, not speaking foreigners because customs are different in terms of displaying wealth, but the most affluent people I know (I'm talking folks worth billions) are very understated and live well below their means. General rule, if you brag about it you ain't got it.

Anyway Vlad, and I haven't read each post too closely and I'm probably stating the ridiculous obvious - but think of the BLUE key-fob as an accessory that confirms with the BMW blue color that your car is an 'M' package.
So on it's own the blue accents on the key are purposeful and meaningful.

Yeah, I know. It actually matches with original dashboard, which has a blue line on it, but this is if you do not change anything. I wish i could close this thread, since my question was answered long time ago.

My wife has the perfect solution. So to a nail salon and have them paint the accent any color you want.

I would love to have light beige key, but dealer said, i can't choose a keyfob color unfortunately.
BMW accessories offers a leather key case, it's about $40-50

Well, this is exactly why i started this thread, these keys you mention are available from bmw, but you can't choose which keyfob to have on your car. If it's msport, then you get a blue keyfob.

Indeed.

And shoes.

A $50k car should also come with shoes that match the interior leather.
The laces should color coordinate with the piping.

That would be kinda sweet...

Do replacement keyfobs only come in black? They can't program one for your car that is a different color?

Truth be told, I've held off on ordering all-weather floor mats for this same reason. I have MWM on black leather, and since all the accents are blue, I'm in wait of all seasons with blue trim (instead of red). If BMW hasn't released these by this winter, I'll go with all black, but I'd really like to get these...

...with blue trim instead of red.

haha yeah but that's a little different. The keyfob will either be in the pocket or the key slot... hardly clashing with the rest of the interior. I wouldn't go out of my way to spend an extra $400 just to get a keyfob that matches my interior, even if they gave me a red one and my trim was blue.

But red trimmed floor mats with a blue trimmed dash would look meh, I agree.
