After a week I still have no production number. This is how it looked last Wed so I know the order is in and Friday the sales guy told me there was no change:

Your build is very similar to mine. If you don't mind, could you please tell me what you paid. THANKS!
I'm getting it at $1000 below Euro Delivery MSRP, $48k.

Hey, you have me listed on the sheet. That's me at the top. It took me about two weeks to get my production number from BMW of Columbia.

That's cause you are just in the "order bank".... similar to when you go down and put a deposit to reserve your spot... so they probably don't have an allocation available yet

you can see the other 2 that are being built are 2014/4 so April and 2015/5 May.... so if they are only getting 1 allocation/ month you might get the June one

As in not starting to build till June or a June delivery? They led me to belive they had allocation now....

this is exactly where I'm at too. I had mentioned earlier that my confirmed allocation was the week of May 4, but BMW provided me with a "born on" date of 4/16. I have been trying not to get excited in thinking it's actually getting built earlier because the expected production completion is still listed as May 12...

no further updates since then but in short, stuck at 150 and not really convinced it's being built but rather it's in production purgatory?!?!

June production.... delivery might be around 3 or 4 weeks after it is built as you are on the east coast... else it would be 1 or 2 weeks more for the west side...

If they had an allocation, they would have a production number...

Did you explicitly ask what allocation date did they have ? Sadly dealers some times suggest things so they can sell the car...

That's pretty common mine was produced 2 weeks earlier too...

Ha, so it's same as me!

I had a production week 19, so the first week of May.

On 4/15 the car flipped to in production and I got a VIN but ever since then it has not moved. When I call they tell me the "estimated" completion date is May 9th.

production should only take about a week... maybe they ran out of some part and they can only build it till a certain stage till the parts arrive....production shouldn't take 3 weeks... might be sitting 2 weeks after production but not the process itself

I'd expect to see something other than just 150 at this point then, right? that's what's confusing for me.

I have been "in production" with an estimated completion date of 5/6/14 for two weeks. I think the system may have changed, because all of the info on this and other forums is that production should take a matter of days once you hit "in production."

BMW NA told me that there were no production delays. Unclear if they were being honest.

ugh. I was fearing that...should have known better than to get excited about it flipping into production early...

I will. I suspect we will have a change in status this week if our cars are to be done the following week.

What sucks is that if the car finishes on May 9-11 (there is a ship that actually leaves on the 9th), there is only one ship leaving soon thereafter (on May 16th).. if we miss that, we are stuck in Germany until May 29th.
