I am wondering if they will go the route used for the M4 - at a private event of their own choosing instead of a big show.
Regardless, I am not hopeful we will see it at Geneva.

I really do not get it, why BMW is not trying to get more attention onto the M2. The RS3 is ready to start and ready to make good sales because of its emotional engine and it cant hurt if the RS3 would get a rival now.
I live in germany and I know that many BMW drivers EVEN do not know that there is a BMW M2 coming. I think BMW is doing something wrong when they try to attract attention that late. Last week I have been to my local BMW dealer for service with my E46 and I spoke with the new-cars salesman and I asked him about the BMW M2. He said to me: You speak about the M235i? Me:"No, the BMW M2 that is coming this year." He:"Hmm .. I do not know if a BMW M2 is coming? I can look in the system if i can find something about that." And he went to his PC and tried to search in the BMW system for infos and he didn't find anything. And he is more than 15 years a BMW salesman. ... the M2 is absolutly not known here in germany. Thats kind of confusing. |

^^^ You are absolutely right! With the exception of internet hype and the odd very very small magazine article, there is almost no public knowledge that this car is even real, let alone scheduled for production in 8 months time! It's bizarre!

Yeah I was kind of thinking the same thing about the private event for the reveal.

Scotts on the sauce in Geneva.
I think the private reveal late this month a la F82 is realistic now.

I find it a little disappointing BMW has ducked Geneva and not shown the M2 at least as a concept. Does this point to too much hot competition at Geneva with maybe the M2 being good but not truly special? It is not as if BMW has a lot of other exciting new models at Geneva indeed for a performance brand we are left looking at a 1 LCI and a 2 Active Tourer for the school run! Come on BMW you can do better than this at a major motor show !

Not aimed at you Colin but the poster prior above and all of us, perhaps the car is simply not ready, not a question of hiding from anything.
