Any insight on whether or not this M235i xdrive LSD will fit my 2020 M240i xdrive?

Does one put an LSD in the back or front
or transfer case (or 2 or 3 of the above)
with an x-drive?

Between the two cars, realoem shows different part numbers for the diffs and different final drive ratios. If you don't get an answer here, I'd suggest calling or emailing Dan at diffsonline to find out what your options are. He's generally pretty responsive.

I have a 2019 bmw xdrive. I installed a custom lsd differential and am using xdelete. feels awesome in awd mode. In rwd mode, it is no different from other rear-wheel drive M cars. If it is an automatic transmission, the rear differential ratio should be the same as the front differential ratio. İt is 2.81.

Man this is an option i take into account for my m240i, did you find any problems with xdelete? and how did you manage to place an lsd on xdrive when it usually comes only for rwd ? would like more details and how much it costs, looks really interesting as a setup.

I did not encounter any software or hardware problems. I sent my differential to the Quaife company in England. Then they sent it back to me. All of this cost me an average of £4000 because of the damn tax system in my country. By the way, do not forget that xdrive rear axles are slightly thinner than the rwd model!

Thanks for the pictures and the info, i was tempeted to switch to the g42 for the lsd that comes standard but didnt wanna pay 15k+taxes for a heavier car and i dont care much about interior trim and prefer the older not full techy way of things. So going with diffsonline which will be 5k cad for the lsd + i need to install it after isnt that bad of a price. We got the same color hahaha, if i go with the lsd i see me keeping the car for a long long time to be fair.

You said $5000.00 just for the diff without installation?

I recommend you to look at https://www.birdsauto.com/parts/M2233305341
If you want quaife, you have to buy it from this site, they make BMW diffs. If you put it in your car it will be the best decision of your car life.

It seems a lot of money. I understand you have customs but even with these fees, this is way more expensive than it should be.

Ask a quote from your nearest dealer for the OEM LSD.

I may be wrong but, I always thought LSDs could be installed only on RWD models.

Even with no customs and no shipping getting it in the US is 3200. usd -> 4300 cad for the rwd. So it is in the price range even when buying directly from usa, which i can probably do, a trip to boston and spend the weekend there and get it. But i don't know if there are better alternatives, all i hear is diffsonline for US/CA

If your car is xdrive, you cannot fit this differential. The final drive is different and the axle thicknesses are different yours. There is no company that produces locked differentials for cars with xdrive. Only quife or wavetrac
