Front Turn Signals Blinking

Hello,

I noticed a week ago that my front turn signals were blinking when my headlights are off and the halos are on. When headlights are on the side markers are properly illuminated with no blinking.

I've had Speckrum LEDs installed for about 3 years and thought maybe they were going bad. So I bought some cheaper LEDs to replace them with. It didn't fix the problem. All other lights work fine, so I'm not sure what the problem is. Good news is the cheaper LEDs match the headlights/halos better.

I moved back to the states from Germany about 5 months ago and totally forgot about transferring my warranty over. I have about a week before I can drive to the dealer. Any ideas or suggestions before I drive an hour and half to the dealer would be very much appreciated.

Thank you for your time.

r/s,
Dillion

This is common when you put LEDs where the original blinker bulbs used to be. The car does a "cold weather check" every couple minutes or so when the car is on. Normally the standard bulbs would not receive enough power from this to flicker but since LEDs run on much less power they will flicker when this happens (at least this is how it was explained to me so if I'm wrong my bad). This is something you can have coded off I did this when I switched to LEDs. Also LEDs last A LOT longer than incandescent bulbs so they shouldn't burn out in a couple years under normal circumstances.

Thank you for your response. I've never seen them blink like this till now. Is this something my dealer will be able to fix?

Probably not. Just use one of the coding apps to turn off the feature. I’m fairly certain BimmerCode can do it.
