Ready to Move on from the M235...

I live in a city where owning a car isn't practical, but two years ago during the pandemic, I decided I wanted to buy a 135 and do all the bold-on things to it as a hobby. I wanted to spend about 15k.

In my research, I ended up finding a 2015 M235 6SP with the N55 with higher mileage that was in great shape with no modifications. I figured I would be better with the N55 over the N54. (I know that's a matter of opinion)

I bought it, took it to a highly respected shop in Atlanta, and had a VRSF FMIC, Catless Down Pipe, and Charge Pipe installed along with a full MHD license and a burger cold air intake.

I wanted to take the car to a track, but never got around to it. The traffic is so bad where I live, I rarely uncover it and drive it. It's not used for commuting, I take the train to and from work.

That brings me to the question.

Would I do better by removing the catless downpipe and tuning it back to stock, or leaving it on but including the original cat/downpipe? I did keep the FMIC and original charge pipe, but I don't think it would make sense to return those to stock.

The car has 115,000 miles on it. It had 98,000 before the modifications. Prior to my purchase, it was garaged, and now it is covered most of the time. The seats are almost like new. I would consider the exterior to be in better-than-average condition, and there are no mechanical issues. It's not a low mileage garage queen, but if someone is looking to get into something for less than the $25k+, that the low mileage versions bring, I think it is one of the cleaner examples.

I have the original wheels with the sensors and the tires wheels and tires with sensors shown here. The rears are new as of last week, and the fronts are nearing need of replacement. Square set up with 8 x 18"

Also not sure where the best place to list this car would be. FB? BAT? Car Guru? etc. Goes without saying, if I list it, I would have a lot more details and pictures.

I would install the oem cat, remove any tunes and sell it as only reliability mods like the charge pipe

How does a catless downpipe pass inspection in Queens?
Do you know a guy who knows a guy?
Regardless, take it off. No one wants that headache who does not know a guy who knows a guy.

Does it pass emissions where you are? If so, I’d leave it. Returning back to the stock tune with an intercooler on it seems odd and will cost you money.

If the car won’t readily pass emissions, you will have to remove the DP before the sale (and should disclose the mods that were reversed).

Is it running a Stage 1 tune? Stage 2?
