Dinan S3 M235

Snapped a few photos of my buddies M235 getting the full Dinan treatment. Dinan S3 with BBS CI-R rims painted a nice charcoal greyish color.
Wanted to share with the community since he's not a forum guy.
The shop also had an M2 straight from the dealer in for some Dinan mods. I had to take some pics of that of course

Sexy car. Love the light interior with the blue. Just like my old Z4M.

Awesome, but...and I don't mean to nitpick, but does the exhaust usually stick out that much?

@Tano22 - They usually stick out because of the larger tips.

@schnell1982 - Love the color and the Dinan upgrades. Ask your buddy if the wheel upgrade was worth it. Hope one of these days to upgrade to at least an S2.

I have the wheels (not the Dinan version but the one with the BBS center-cap). Love them and it changes the car imho (for the better).

For some reason on the F chassis 1, 2 and 3 series the tips are welded to the muffler can. You can not adjust them and the muffler itself is very close to the body of the car underneath when installed.
The shop pushed the exhaust back as far as it can go.
I don't like the tips being so far out either but unless you cut the tips off and re-weld them...that is how they all are.
It does look odd when the exhaust is warm because it is too far out.

He does love the wheels. Lighter and look great. Another bonus is no more heavy run flat tires. The car feels lighter and very noticeable to turn easier now as well.
For the price is was a good choice. And they are made to Dinan's spec from BBS. Perfect fitment with no wheel spacers.

I think it's extended out to accommodate folks that has MP Diffusers. It would look great on mine since I have an Autoplus diffuser. No modification required.

Dinan actually sells an MP Diffuser version and a non-MP Diffuser version, and I believe the difference between the two is that the MP one is a bit longer to accomodate for the bigger diffuser.

I definitely like them a lot! Who did you buy your wheels from? Were the lighter wheels more noticeable quicker than the OEM during acceleration?

I bought them in satin black from TireRack. I got them in the identical size to what Dinan spec'd for their wheels.

Coming from a square run-flat setup, i couldn't be happier. Particularly because i wrapped them in the Michelin Pilot Sport 4s. I didn't weigh them and compare them to my stock wheels/tires, but I held both and they "feel" lighter.

As far as performance goes, I haven't really launched on the setup but I have done a bit of aggressive cornering and there's just no comparison. Loads of grip and the 265 rears really keep the car on the pavement. Probably changes the car more than any other single mod imho.

PS - there's an entire thread dedicated to this specific wheel on this forum:

I checked the Dinan website and see what you mentioned.
Guess he needs to add the rear valance now

Update, he doesn't. I bought and installed the exhaust for the stick (non M-Perf) diffuser and it looks almost identical to the photos you posted earlier. A little long for my tastes, but looks ok from most angles. Sounds wonderful, so I'll put up with the length.

Is that the color the CI-Rs came in or did he have them painted?
