The stock tips are a perfect fit on the MPE. If you do use them, use a rubber mallet to hammer them off (From behind of course, they are slip ons) and then mu suggestion is to put the tips on the ground, take the exhaust and force the exhaust on to the tips using body weight for maximum ease of install. It sounds weird but you'll understand once you get there.

I may be biased, but I love mine! Here's a video I made where you can hear the snap, crackle, and pop!

I like mine. I have DP and the carbon M tips.

It's a little quiet in the cabin for me, but I think that has to do with all the insulation in the car. On the outside it's louder than you think.

That's actually good news for me I take a lot of work calls in the car. Then when the top is down I can hear all the MPE excitement.

Anyone else who has it hear a hissing noise near 6-7k rpm? Just got mine installed. Loving the extra noise but the hissings kinda unexpected

Love mine. Its a bit more on the quiet side, but perfect for a daily driver. When you get it into the higher revs it has a good bark as well.

When I have to lower the seats to transport stuff it echos in the cabin better. If I could put the top down it would sound perfect probably

So, I did it...

Thanks @uisynot and @BEM-S4 for videos and advice. CF tips look great with MG and stock diffuser. Could only drive it a few miles today. has a nice growl to it w/o being obnoxious. Looking forward to break it in. Sound in comfort mode is calm - no drone in comfort either.

Just installed my MPE and diffuser over the weekend. Love the sound.. It is definitely louder than the stock. I am happy with it being not too loud.
It does have that crackling sound that I am still trying to get used to.

Coming from an M4, it definitely sounds more subtle..

I think fabspeed would make a killing selling their carbon fiber tips. They come with the muffler delete but it looks flawless

Been doing some research, figured it'd help to hear firsthand.
I've had mine for about a year now. I did the MPE exhaust at the same time I had the Dinan S1 done. I looked at MPE and AWE and ultimately decided to go with MPE.

1) No drone for me, which was REALLY important.
2) Slight increase, but nothing obnoxious.
3) Doubt it - I did it for sound.

The sound difference compared to stock is really, really damn good. I'm really happy with the MPE exhaust!

it's probably my favorite part of the car and have never once noticed any drone. sometimes I do wish it was a tad bit louder though.

It's an axle back exhaust... so you are getting what you're buying. Slight increase in sound, no drone inside as all the cats are still stock and in place, and obviously no performance gain as it's just the back metal box being changed.

Mpe is suited as a minor upgrade, beginners mode.

Cat-back is the next stage, this actually makes a much bigger difference in terms of sound and experience. Performance increase as well.

Or you can go the cheap route and get mpe and mid pipe delete, but it doesn't sound anywhere near as good as a proper cat back imo

Turbo is for the extreme hard core.
