Hi everyone!

I'm looking to purchase my first BMW (Used). I've been doing my research and search around town and two vehicles of great interest popped up.

2016 228i with Msport, Premium, Tech, and DA Package - 23k miles - $28k
2015 M235i with Premium, Tech, DA, and Cold Weather Package - 23k miles - $32k

Both are CPO, one owner vehicles coming off of personal leases. From what I understand, the differences between the two vehicles are that the M235i has the THP and 3L I-6 instead of the 2L I-4 on the 228i.

I have only test driven the 2016 228i so far. Nevertheless, I was impressed. Coming from a VW Jetta, the 228i felt like a beast. I am planning to also test drive the M235i and try the 228i again for comparison sake.

Now here are my questions:
1. Are these good deals? I've checked against KBB and 228i seems to be in the smack middle of the suggested price. But the M235i seems to be somewhat below suggested price (Which seems little strange).
2. For $4k, is it worth going for the extra horse power and THP goodies?
3. As a first BMW, should I look into leasing a new vehicle instead of purchasing used?

It'd always a matter of personal preference. I'd never tell anyone how to spend their money...Drive the m235i. If you thought the 228 was a beast, then you're in for a treat.

In the end, I went with the 2015 M235i and I am really enjoying it. Honestly, I don't think either one can be a bad choice. Have you test driven both cars?
