I removed mine because if they don't know what it already is, they don't need to know

I want to remove the bmw badges, but its not worth the expense. If I get a bumper respray for rock chips I will have the front and rear roundels bondo'ed in. It's kinda funny though because I don't want to remove the roundels from the wheels, I actually like my stockers on this car and don't think blanks would look good, hmmm, I guess I will have to figure that out when the time comes.

And even if they knew, would they know?

If the car is for sale, you'd think the seller has posted the correct specs (including model and engine size) in the ad. Badged or de-badged, a pop of the hood would suffice. Forget looking at the tailpipes...we all know some add duals to the car..so that doesn't work with a visual inspection.

Back on topic..do whatever makes the owner happy. They drive the car....

Typically, it was a number, indicating engine displacement in cubic inches, plus some sort of artwork such as little flags, V for V-8 and so on.

Since the cubic inches are clearly displayed, badges with big numbers were coveted, along with bragging rights. 426, 427? You were king of the street! Without racing! No one messed with you.

And of course, some car owners replaced their badges with bigger numbers, but I don't recall anyone debaging in those days.
And some with big blocks removed them and stuck on 327/307 just to screw with you.......

It's a factory option in EU.

As I said before BMW sells cars with no rear badge so what does a badge mean.

I now know why Americans carry their nations flag so they can sell products and know which county they live in. You would be lucky to even see a New Zealand flag flying anywhere in New Zealand. We don't care we are just free to do as we please and don't have any ID to worry about. Come to New Zealand "land of the free" with cars having no rear badges.
