2 Series Gran Coupe

Any new info / rumors on the 2 Series Grand Coupe and when / if it might be available?

The last thread I read on it was that it wasn't coming to the states. I believe China and another country will get it. Do a search for "concept 2 series" or something like that. Would love to see one here in the states for sure.

Although BMWNA could play nomenclature games, the concept shown in China is not a 2 Series. It's the 1 Series sedan on the front wheel drive UKL platform shared with mini...AWD available.

Few tidbits I've read is that it will come here in AWD or FWD form only......no RWD only model...

I'll try and find out as I'd be interested in a 2GC as well. But not FWD or fake xDrive w FWD bias bullshit. Can ask in a month or two.

Just like the new X1 which,I think, is the same platform. BMW following the Audi method: FWD or AWD,transverse mounted engine sitting in front of the front axle.

It will be a FWD 4 door with very tight leg room made for small people.

Just consider it BMW's version of the Audi A3 and MB CLA...direct competitors in the entry luxury sedan segment. Same size, same configuration (FWD/AWD), and expected to be similarly priced.

Two things. People buying actual cars in the US is steadily dropping as they are all going towards crossovers. The 2-series is a slow seller as is, and a Gran Coupe I don't see being profitable, much less needed. More importantly, STOP USING "GRAND COUPE" FOR A FOUR DOOR. Sorry to "yell" but it still bugs me to see automakers using that moniker for four door cars.
