What does the spouse of a 2 series owner drive?
What kind of car does your spouse drive?
Do you let him/her drive your 2 series? In my case the M235i convertible is my wife's daily driver but I drive it on weekends whenever we are in the vehicle together because she is not a driving enthusiast. She has never been a big car person and this is by far the fastest car she has ever owned. I daily drive a Chevrolet C7 Z51 convertible with a manual 7 speed so I am the spouse. My wife has driven my Chevy twice in 2016 even though I have told her she is welcome to use it anytime. Mainly, I'm curious as I found this thread posted by Wah in the M3/M4 section interesting... Apparently most M3/M4 owners don't like to share their rides with spouses. Let's see them! |

Wife has a Jeep Cherokee. I usually use it whenever I need a truck or want to go mountain biking. She drives my car fairly frequently though recent back problems makes driving my car brutal on her so not as much lately.
BTW nice Vettes - I had a MY C5 coupe with a ~525hp build before getting married, miss that thing.

I drive a 2013 335i; she drives a 2016 228i, both M-Sports. We swap cars occasionally with no qualms. Even back when I had my 2007 N54-engined E92 with Dinan S3 (400+ hp), she drove it whenever her previous car (2011 128i Convertible) had to go in for service or other similar situations; at the time, both of those cars were 6MT. She's ok to drive anything we have as far as I'm concerned.

She has two rides...an '16 Audi A6, and also a '09 Jeep Liberty for hauling dogs, sports equipment, etc. I try not to drive the Jeep....smells like dogs and sweat despite cleanings!

What does the spouse of an M2 driver drive?
a 2014 Jeep Cherokee Limited. We have 2 kids and it snows, someone has to be practical. All my cars are stick (including the M2) and she doesn't drive stick, and doesn't want to learn.

My wife drives a Subaru Outback.
She could drive my car, but has declined to do so for the past year.

I lease a Sentra for my SO. Cheap to run and I never have to worry about her breaking down like I did when she drove her 15 year old corolla. She drives the M235 every now and then, and we do autocross it together.

My wife drives a 2015 Kia Forte Sedan. It's really nice and looks sporty with the 17 inch rims on it. It has more options than my car and it cost 18k less. The quality of materials is not the same compared to my 228i but it is nice for the price category it's in.

'13 X1 xDrive 28i. Originally she wanted a slightly lifted, AWD, station wagon, but wanted to keep is on the small side. The only other car that fit the bill at the time was the Subaru Crosstrek, which was crazy loud in its first year of production. Volvo was either not producing the V60 cross country at the time or it was too big, the allroad was too big too. She was a MB fan and a little reluctant to try the X1. Now she says I'll have to pry it from her cold dead hands.

The girlfriend drives a 2006 Nissan Armada -- which is like a tank. She doesn't hate it, (because she ferries kids around still), but she prefers smaller cars.
She is the only person I've ever let drive either my old 128i or my new 235. I think she's now ready to get a BMW. My work here is done... |

Well...I have been married for 21 years, having said that my wife can drive whatever she wants. What is mine... is hers. Up until this point she has refused to drive my 2er. I drive in Sport Mode almost exclusively and I do not think she cares for the acceleration, despite me telling her that it is less jumpy in Comfort mode. She drives a big Nissan Pathfinder.
