Installing JB+ on N55

Does anyone have any experience with installing the JB+ plug and play into an N55 engine?

Did you let the idrive turn off or did you unplug the power from the trunk? if you did it in the trunk could you clarify which cable you unplugged.

Thanks.

just turn the car off, pop hood. put ur keys away from the car, put it on. done.

Even if you fuck it up, you just to restart the car and its fine.

Dont unplug power. its not needed.

Too be honest I didn't even wait for the ecu to go to sleep. I just popped the hood when I got home and installed it, then did a few test runs . And my car is running great it's definitely a noticeable improvement. I almost forgot. I'd probably recommend an AFE PRO DRY FILTER if you don't have an cold air intake it really really helps with throttle response. I got mine fro Xtreme Powerhouse for 69 bucks

Question for those who installed the JB+ and had to bring the car in for warranty service.
Did you leave it in,or took it out?I mean you can hardly see it in the engine bay, right. My first warranty visit is coming up this wednesday.Just wondering what you guys did.

The last time I checked on XTreme Powerhouse's web site for this filter, it only listed the 335i, not the M235i. Is the same filter used for both or was I just not looking in the right place?
Thanks!

When in doubt, take it out. Especially for something that easy to remove.

Installed a couple weeks ago

I installed the JB+ a couple weeks ago and am super happy with it. The only thing I've noticed ever since i installed it is that sometimes when I step on it in third for the first time it seems like the turbo doesn't spool up. Anyone else experience anything similar to this?

Thanks to Mike at Xtreme Powerhouse for the speedy delivery of the JB+.

I installed my JB4 couple of months ago, it was EZ. I didn't disconnect the power but I was very careful around the positive terminal. I ran map 1 for several weeks and then switched to map 5. I'm very happy with it.

Can you explain the different maps to me? That would be wonderful Thanks!

The different maps get you different boost levels. I'm sure one of the vendors will offer more detail.

I wouldn't say turbo lag. It's almost like the turbo doesn't even spool. I don't feel that kick in the back like I did in first and second. I'll rev it out until about 5k rpm and then shift to 4th and I'll feel that turbo kick again.Normally I can clearly hear the turbo pressure release with my intake, when I let off the throttle, however when this happens I don't hear any of that hiss. It doesn't happen everytime, it's seems to happen when I'm accelerating hard for the first time on a drive.

Map 0: JB4 disabled
Map 1: Additive target, around 4psi over stock.
Map 2: Additive target, around 6psi over stock. Suggested for those with 93 octane and bolt on modifications. Also good for small E85 mixtures.
Map 3: Progressive methanol mapping, absolute target of 11-20psi based on meth flow, meth additive setting, and average ignition values.
Map 4: Stock performance with JB4 active for logging only.
Map 5: Autotuning map, absolute target of 11-17psi based on octane and conditions.
Map 6: User definable absolute target map. Suggested for troubleshooting by professionals only.
Map 7: Race gas map. Absolute target of 18.5psi. Requires straight unleaded race gas.
