91 octane and jb4
So I'm in socal and 93 octane is almost impossible to find. Does that mean with jb4 I can never go above map 1? What if I'm running a sport cat?

I'd recommend sticking with map 1 if you don't have 93 octane.

E85 ftw!
Even in my 93, i spent all summer adding 3-5gals to every tank. Now in the winter i don't run it in every tank due to lower E85 % content

Here in BC we have ethanol-free 94 octane at Chevron. With a good performance IC you should be fine. Factory IC's heat soak a lot in the warmer months.

I was runing shell 91 on my past cars thats a great deal on price vs mileage vs octane. But after tuned M235i, it will need 93 OCT at least so I go petro 94, however compare to the gas I get in US, PC94 brings me lots higher avgign which means the timing curve's fall, get the rid of spark plugs the biggest factor is the gas quality. So if you tune your N55, PC94 is not good enough, even not better than 93 in US. E10 or E0 should be nothing to our cars beyond a little mileage. |

Thanks for the input. I didn't realize that PC94 was so bad. I'm going bootmod3 soon so I guess I won't be tuning for 93 octane unfortunately.

Still have factory FMIC with all of your mods? Or have you upgraded?

I'd think you'd be fine with Ultra94? I ran it when it was still "Sunoco" and made well over 450whp on a 2.0l 4cyl with upwards of 18-19* of timing, never detonated.. I wonder if the fuel has degraded since Petro took it over?
