No doubt in my mind this will be a complete flop, just like the previous 5GT. The only upside is that if you want 5 technology and comfort at rock bottom prices, about 1 year from now these cars will have huge discounts on the dealer lots.

You do have to have a strong stomach, or lack a sense of esthetics altogether.

Yeah, not in a good way. This is the crap that excites my bowels, so now I'm off to wipe any the memories. The GTs are some ugly cars... Almost reminds me of the 1980s AMC Eagle.

The GT 5er is so useful if you have family or hobbies or a sport or three. Beats on an X12345 whatever ( except M type X models )

So sad. The current 6er was so beautiful. This is a poor decision. The Panamera is awesome and this turd from BMW cannot be compared to it at any level.

No idea why they felt the need to move the 5gt to its own line as a 6 other than...

Personally I agree with the others. I am sure that the 6er gran coupe could have been the only 6 series model and the 5gt continue.

I think they hated their own name with the 5GT model name and felt making it a 6 would be better.

I see 10-20 BMW's every day and I only drive 5-10 miles a day and I am lucky to see a #GT once every month or so. Were is this demand for an ugly GT

Why not to go with 5er touring?

Though my hockey sticks and my huge hockey bag were fine in my lil’ 4GC. No need for that ugly GT.

I think they axed the 5GT. I really don't know why BMW thought making it just as fat and adding +1 would make it better.

Because a higher number makes it more desirable and therefore more people will buy it. At least thats probably what some research focus research group came up with.

BMW's lineup naming scheme is now officially illogical. The 6 Series is now this rolling abortion. The 8-Series is apparently supposed to be "sportier" than the previous 6-Series.

X5 SUV every time over this. Price, space and almost weight so similar.

The car is pretty much universally panned by the 'enthusiast' crowd here. I agree, I thought the 5GT was a terrible looking car but it must have made money so it still exists. I can barley believe it!
