Spotted an M235i in LA

Hey guys,

I work next door to the Motor Trend offices, and we often see a variety of interesting cars that manufacturers drop off for photoshoots and whatnot. The M235i was there today, and I figured you guys would appreciate seeing it:

While I don't regret my order of my MG M235i, and I'm sure I'll love it. I hate these rims more and more every time I see a picture of them. Definitely first mod.

^ Funny, I am going in the opposite direction on the rims - hated them at first, now starting to like them. I'll be able to see them on the 14th at the CIAS here in Toronto - I find judgments can change with real-life viewing.

Mine changes back and forth depending on the light and color of the car.

I do need to see them in real life though too....

EDIT - I think these are wheels that "need" a nicely dressed tire. That helps them "pop" in my opinion.

Not sure what it is, but the rear end looks really nice in these pics. Diffuser looks a little more natural. Maybe I'm just getting used to it?

ahahah... I saw this same car and I met the guy driving it. He said he was writing a review on the vehicle for some european magazine. Real cool guy. he was telling me about the bad things or things he didn't like about the car that he wasn't allowed to publish in the magazine. lol

I absolutely love the stock M235i wheels, but I know that they are not for everybody. I saw them in person yesterday and they look great! There is an M135i (white with red seats) at Carrs BMW in Bury St. Edmunds in the showroom. We went there to get some warranty work done on our 335i. The M135i also has the silver mirror caps, dark colored diffuser, and the blue brakes so you can see if you like those in person as well.

Carrs BMW is getting their first 2-series on March 8th…I can't wait to see it in person.

Cheers!

I'm at RAF Croughton, live in Oxford, and I've seen many M135i's. Still just not feeling it. The mirrors don't bother me though like it does some. Either way, no big deal. I've changed rims on my last 2 cars, it'll just have to be 3 in a row for me.

On a side note, is your 335i US spec? And do the dealers give you any flack on warranty work for a US spec car in the UK?

Yes, it is a US car. No problems whatsoever at the dealer for warranty work. This is the second thing we have had to take it in for. They will even give you a loaner if you need one (and they have any available).

Cheers!

A little bit off-topic, but just a comment on the photo... That ~20 year old Saturn coupe still looks damned good. GM was on to something there, but, as usual, blew it.
