It's about 300% of what Porsche charges for Active Torque Vectoring which includes a mechanical LSD ($1,320) in the 991 Carrera.

Interesting. Maybe I was thinking of PCCBs or something being that much.

Yeah, most Porsche options are crazy expensive (PCCB's are close to $8k), but this one is reasonable.

Yes, but I'm sure the "factory" one is covered under warranty, and it's available right meow; as opposed to an aftermarket LSD that won't be covered nor will it be available for probably a year or so.

Port installed can be residualized! Goes right into the MSRP.

0Z7A is the option, can be added up until it arrives at the VPC.
Isn't it only a tiny percentage of the cost that gets added to the msrp (probably like a few hundred bucks of it) then residualized?

At 3615 I'll be passing, especially on a lease. I'll just save and invest that money and get a car with a proper factory installed LSD once my lease is up (m2 or m3).

I have a bunch of PIA accessories on my M3, and all of the cost was added to the MSRP for financing considerations, not just a % of it. It would have been the same for a lease, I looked into that before deciding to buy.

Interesting. Thanks for the correction. I'm not sure why I thought it was only a part of it. Maybe those are dealer installed accessories that aren't fully residualized? I guess that would make it more reasonable if it's not only a portion.

It's still quite pricey though compared to the numbers people were throwing around here were like 1500 or 2000 for the lsd (of course those were just random guesses at the time).

this must be Canadian pricing...carbon fiber mirror caps show they cost $765 here...they are $650 on the bmwusa website for the m235i.

You sure this isn't Canadian pricing? The bmwusa website shows lower prices for performance parts.

Holy hell...too expensive for the LSD IMHO. Good news is at least I can cross that decision off my list!

I'll still go for the M-Performance Exhaust though!

Sounds about right, I was working on £2k so $3k dollars sounds abouts right.

You can already buy a quaife diff for the m135i that will fit the 2 and that's about £1.7k in the uk. Warranty and bmw fit sounds good for the rest of the cash

Dinan does not have 2 series parts yet, but 2013 135is LSD is $3k without installation. Not so sure the aftermarket will be much cheaper than M perf …

guys I avoided the m performance exhaust as a local outfit did my M6 for 900.00 vs 5-7K for aftermarket and it sounds great and more HP. I'm going to do the same for M235. Chop it off just before resonators and larger pipes and racing muffler. Less cost and more power.

these are prices installed at the port in USD. These are MSRP and are negotiable by dealer just like the sticker of your new M235i

Still confused. If not CDN prices, then are you sure these aren't dealer-installed prices or something? I just don't understand why there's a premium even over the prices we already knew, like the mirror caps.

These prices really hurt, especially for those of us working with hard negotiators for dealers. I'm willing to pay closer to MSRP on the car for the convenience of working with my local dealer, but that hit is amplified if I'm going to struggle to get the M Perf stuff for anything resembling a reasonable price.

Not sure that this is true.

Read this http://prodcds.bmwuniversity.com/cou...n%20update.pdf

Those are fractions of what you pay for the PIOs. I think most people buy the parts and sell them at lease end since it makes little economic sense to roll into lease. These parts just don't have the resale value for the mass audience for BMW to give it a full MSRP bump, I would imagine.

Very disappointed if the LSD is truly that much money. The good thing is the 2 series is very different from E90-92 diffs since those are welded shut. If you wanted LSD you needed to replace everything.

This should be much simpler and easier for aftermarket or after purchase installation.

So we still have to pay for installation? That blows.

May I ask where you got your info from?
