No drone, either in Sport+ or Comfort with MPE. I have taken numerous trips of 400- 500 miles mostly in Comfort (for 8th gear cruising) with no drone. Actually, kind of quiet in Comfort. Always in Sport+ on shorter drives.

I have it and can attest to the fact that it is "exactly" as loud as stock...same volume on start up, cruise, and wot...the only difference is the actual sound profile which is a bit more metallic and racier. It is actually quite docile most of the time.

Heh, one doesn't want to spend $ for the same sound right? I actually want it to sound the same-ish on comfort, louder on sport/sport+ but that's for the outside audience mostly...

I think I'll get it, eventually.

The MPE is my wife's favorite part of the 230iS (I refuse to call it a m235i ). The burples and pops on the overrun in parking lots is always fun.

On the highway if i have the windows up i'll go into Comfort mode to ease back the drone you get in Sport.

Oh, it wasn't a complaint at all. I really like it. Just not for everyone, especially those looking for a louder or bassier tone.

OP, have you thought about the Dinan FreeFlow exhaust? They just released one for the 228i and I like it a lot. Even adds 5HP!
