Thanks myc132! Very exciting.

Also, FWIW, last year it took about 10 days from when the ship got to port until my car was ready for pickup--I think i got unlucky with where the weekends fell then, and I know it also took my dealer a day to get it ready for pickup.

Topeka! Topeka!

Do you guys think the slowdown/strike at the LA Ports will have any effect on our deliveries?

Being the pessimist that I am, I do.

The only thing I hope is that since Port Hueneme isn't as large we'll squeak by without too much trouble...

The news about Honda is actually because they get parts shipped from Asia that's needed in those cars.

I believe that the biggest congestions are in Los Angeles / Long Beach. I heard on the local news (can't find the link right now...) that ports like San Diego and Port Hueneme are not as affected.

Makes sense since we don't need cranes for our cars since they're RoRo cargo. I want to say that once the ship hits the port, the BMW VDC people are the ones who "roll" (drive) the cars off the ship. I could be wrong though, can someone confirm this??

I doubt it very much. Nothing moves in a unionized work environment without the union.

+1 - if the port is union I doubt non-union workers will be allowed to unload ships. VPC might also have union workers though, so it could still be VPC workers who unload.

The saving grace might be the traffic for Port Hueneme is low so there won't be a large backup for berths like in Long Beach.

Our M235i has left the building. It's aboard K-Line's Oregon Highway.

Hey, one more thing - you said automated system. I've found that it is usually a day or 2 behind. When you dial 800, ask to speak to a person ... they will always have the latest info available. Ask for a person, each time you call. They're only available during regular business hours though.

I think this is the key, judging by the schedule, it looks like Hueneme only receives one new ship per day--short of a complete stoppage, it's hard to see that getting too backed up: http://www.portofhueneme.org/vesselschedule/

Fingers crossed.

I'm hoping for March 6th or 7th, but not sure since I'm having the M Performance exhaust and diffuser port installed. I was trying for Performance Center Delivery, but I have several business trips around then. Did that with my E46 M3 and it was a blast. So standard delivery at Field's in Winter Park.

I have already been in contact with my CA at BMW of San Antonio and pushing for as early delivery as I can get. Hoping for mid- March right now. I have a good feeling that they will come through for me as they have all along.

Good luck with you delivery too.

That sounds right to me too but I only thought I'd give everyone some [false] hope since Port Hueneme isn't a large volume port and it's not a strike yet; it's a "slowdown"

Good find man.

Topeka might give us a good idea on what is going on at Port Hueneme. If anyone has their car on Topeka, can you update us after the ship gets there? If they're stuck I'm pretty sure you can find out by calling the 800# and talking to a representative.
